iBuyPower SBX review

The iBuyPower SBX will struggle until Valve gets around to making Steam OS a real operating system instead of a toy for PC gamers with too much time on their hands.

The iBuyPower’s SBX is a capable computer that falls short of the goal it set out for itself because it’s missing the operating system it was originally designed to run.

A Steam Machine without Valve: life with the iBuyPower SBX

It was gaming's hot topic for 2013: Steam Machines. Otherwise known as Valve's plan to take on the living room. The project had my attention for months,

Attractive custom chassis ; Enormous PC game library ; Easy to set up

Console mode is easily broken by pop-ups and Windows errors ; Many games run better on traditional consoles ; Some issues with crashing and freezing

The iBuyPower SBX will look at home in your entertainment center, but it won’t survive there without a mouse and keyboard.
