Cheap, reliable UPS

I bought this in December of 2010. Five and a half years later, the batteries finally died. This thing has been so reliable, I don't ever think about it until the power goes out. Now that the batteries are done, I'm really impressed with how long it...

Rock solid and reliable. Cheap and simple.

There's nothing fancy or cool about it.

Works great, very heavy

This thing is a back breaker to move around. As stated above it can't be mounted on just front rails, it needs rear support. I happened to be mounting on the bottom of our rack so I was able to brace it off of the bottom, if you're going to mount it up...

Lot of power, rack mountable, software isn't too terrible to setup

Way way too heavy to rack mount without rear support. Would have been nice if they included a bracket to mount to rear rails as well. Also it requires using traditional serial instead of USB for software.

Dirty Little Secret

This thing is the dirty little secret of the UPS biz. Super cheap, long run times. Anywhere you don't need crazy advanced reporting this is your unit.

Inexpensive, long run time

Challenging software support in linux

Died silently

I've owned mine for three years, during which it was rock solid despite truly flaky mains power in my area. Went through three office moves, getting dropped twice, and kept right on going.

After 3 years, it died. I consider this a pretty good tenure for a UPS, as they usually die after a year or two. The problem is the way it died: no warning lights, no beeps. Instead, it started randomly dropping voltage, crashing the server connected...

Beast!

This replaced a tripplite 1500 that died on us after 2 years. This thing was cheaper than the tripplite but had better wattage and voltages. This is a very heavy power supply. It was a chore getting it into my rack. I wish it had a digital display on...

great power ratings, good price, good software

no digital display, only 6 plugs

Failure after Warranty

For the price I would have thought the brand would be more reliable.

It worked while under warranty

3 months after warranty ends the battery goes bad. We purchased two of these units together. One is still working but now I'm not sure how long it has left. We have 4 other 1500va's that have been working for the last 3+ years and cost less. Not to...

Has been a solid performer

I decided to try this unit out, as we had previously purchased a tower powercom UPS for several months which worked fine. I also questioned why some of the name-brand UPS units were so expensive. So far, after about 2 months of use, it has worked fine...

Good value, UPS monitoring software

Have not experienced any cons

Not a good start

No way to check batteries - hope they are newer than the manual ...

Solidly built rack mount

No LCD display, no monitoring on the unit Failed in less than a week - during testing, pulled power from outlet. After 10 minutes of normal beeping, it stopped beeping completely. I waited another 10 mins - still no beeping. I plugged it back into the...
