Shuttle XPC G5 3600mc review: Shuttle XPC G5 3600mc

Nice-looking small-form-factor case; context-sensitive LED; decent upgrade options.

Its Pentium D CPU isn't getting any younger; no room for extra hard drives; much smaller Media Centers are out there; support is strictly B-list.

Shuttle's midrange XPC G5 3600mc is slick-looking and compact, but it falls short of other small-form-factor systems such as the Mac Mini and the WinBook Jiv Mini.

Shuttle XPC G5 1100h

Shuttle made a name for itself by pioneering the small-form-factor (SFF) PC case, and the XPC G5 1100h is the company's smallest system yet. Lose the graphics card, and we'd wager that it could also stake a claim as Shuttle's quietest system. It's an...

Clean, attractive design; small footprint; built-in wireless networking; efficient mobile Pentium M processor that delivers solid application performance.

Fan on graphics card detracts from silent appeal; relatively pricey; doesn't use Intel's most recent chipset.

Shuttle's smallest system, the XPC G5 1100h, is a stylish and potentially near-silent midrange PC that's a good fit for design-conscious and space-constrained consumers.

Shuttle XPC G5 8300MC

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other home-theater PCs; you get only one TV tuner, no sound card, and only one hard drive, but what the Shuttle XPC G5 8300mc lacks in power and features, it makes up for in simplicity and style. This PC is...

Sleek, shiny appearance; wireless keyboard and mouse; double-layer DVD burner.

You'll pay a premium for the small-form-factor design; no setup documentation.

If the setup materials were better and the price sweeter, we'd say the Shuttle XPC G5 8300mc would be a good choice for your first Media Center.

Shuttle XPC G5 3300G Desktop Review and Ratings

Shuttle's XPC G5 3300G is a respectable media PC that can handle either format of high-definition movies with ease—once you add the right software.

Small, attractive design ; Good configuration options ; Latest I/O ports ; Optical drive supports Blu-ray and HD DVD playback

Loud GPU cooling fan ; No software included for HD disc playback ; Blu-ray drive requires discrete graphics ; Warranty void if case is opened

Shuttle SD11G5: Pentium-M SFF PC | silentpcreview.com

It's late to the table, but Shuttle's long awaited SD11G5 is a landmark SFF. Just the basics are enough to make a winning combination: A Pentium M SFF platform around a proven single fan heatpipe cooling system with a PCIe video card slot and an...

Shuttle G5 8300M MCE 2005 System

The best small form factor design that Shuttle can offer combined with Microsoft's slick Media Center Edition 2005 operating system make for a very desirable combination.

If you want a Shuttle based Media Center 2005 machine but don't want the hassle of building one yourself the Shuttle G5 8300M is a very good starting point, being pleassingly designed, well featured and speedy in use. However, the lack of passive...

Product Specifications

Shuttle Computer Group's G5 is the chassis of choice to be your complete multimedia and media center solution. Shuttle Computer Group has made several modifications to this design sure to please your eyes and ears alike. First off, you'll note G5's clean facia is thanks to three well-integrated stealth bay covers. The optical drive, floppy drive and front media ports can all be hidden from view when not in use - providing superior style and visual appeal. The integrated media ports on G5's front panel have been redesigned for better functionality. The space between the USB 2.0 ports has been enlarged to make room for devices such as digital camera and thumb drives to be installed at the same time. Also the line in jack has been moved to the back panel, providing a neat and functional finish. Power users questing for the hottest gaming around will drool for the G5 9500, based on AMD's Athlon 64 CPU (Socket 939) and NVIDIA's new NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra Chipset. Do-it-yourself hobbyists and upgraders will appreciate details such as improved internal cable management and the new 3.5" sliding drive tray. For the hottest frame rates straddled by the coolest looks, no PC is finer. Based on the NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra chipset, the G5 9500 delivers cutting-edge features and wicked-fast performance. Supporting new-to-market Socket 939 Athlon 64 processors, this chipset supports a fast 1GHz system bus with upstream and downstream data transfers equating to an amazing 2000MT/s (Mega Transfers per second). In addition, the nForce3 ultra chipset supports high-bandwidth 8X AGP cards. The Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) included in the G5 Series improves on previous XPC ICE designs. The ICE module's thermal resistance has been reduced to an amazing 0.16
