Image quality

Canon PowerShot A75

High-speed burst mode; versatile manual and automatic controls; impressive image quality; high-quality video capture.

Moderate shutter lag; no TIFF option; not very compact.

The high-speed capture, very good image quality, and manual exposure controls of this low-cost Canon will appeal to snapshot photographers who like to get creative.

Canon USA Powershot A75 Digital Camera Camera

The $299 PowerShot A75 is a neat little camera. With a bulge on the left side that makes it easy to grip, it comes with features you usually find on cameras costing hundreds more, such as aperture- and shutter-priority modes, manual focus,...

Like the other Canon cameras we've reviewed, the A75 has a better than average software bundle--a selection of Canon imaging utilities and ArcSoft's Camera Suite--and a thorough, easy-to-read set of documentation

Expert Review

TheCanonPowerShot A75 is an updated version of the immensely popularPowerShot A70 from last year (seeour review). The differences between the A70 and A75 aren'tearthshaking, but they're still nice.

Very good photo quality, Robust performance, AF-assist lamp, Lots of manual controls for a cheap camera, Support for conversion lenses, underwater case, Lots of scene modes, Impressive software package

No diopter correction knob, No rechargeable batteries included, Movie mode not so hot in 2004

Image quality The Canon PowerShot A75's image quality was excellent for its 3-megapixel class. Our test images showed clean, neutral highlights and no tendency to blow out the lightest areas. Shadows, too, had lots of detail and no apparent colour...

Canon PowerShot A75 Review – 001

The PowerShot A75 isn't the first time Canon has visited this territory — it's the sequel to the A70, a successful 3-megapixel camera in its own right. The A75 is so sophisticated, Canon has slapped a couple of labels on its body to remind proud owners...
