Casio Exilim EX-S2

Anyhow, let's get into the details on this latest Exilim model. Since it's virtually identical to the EX-S1, I will be reusing a lot of text from that review, updating where necessary

Very cool, tiny body ; Robust operation ; Built-in memory plus a SD/MMC slot ; Decent photo quality for a tiny camera ; Many controls, even manual white balance ; Handy dock for photo transfer / battery charging

No optical zoom (can't see how they'd do it) ; No sound in movie mode (get the EX-M2 for that) ; Some distortion in corners of images ; No macro mode ; No tripod mount ; Buttons on top of camera feel too similar -- can't tell them apart

Using the Exilim models, and now the Sony U10 have taught me something about these ultra-small cameras. If you view them as primary cameras, they're not really competitive at their respective prices. But if you think of them as a secondary,...

Casio Exilim EX-S2 Review

Unbelievably small and light, yet complete with LCD monitor, flash, and swappable battery and memory-card options, Super easy to use; exposure and white-balance controls are a pleasant surprise

Awkwardly placed on/off button and teensy control dial, Slightly soft snapshot images; no optical zoom or closeup mode

The portrait and especially outdoor modes are useful, and we were pleased with many of the Exilim's general snapshots and even slightly tricky (exposure-adjusted) indoor scenes -- the Casio proved above average at capturing indoor shots without flash,...

HardwareCentral - Casio Exilim EX-S2 Review.

A door on the camera's left side reveals the proprietary Casio NP-20 lithium-ion battery pack, which Casio's specs and our tests indicate is good for just over an hour of shooting (easily enough for 200 to 300 shots) or something under two hours of LCD...

Casio EXILIM EX S2 review: Casio EXILIM EX S2

Casio EXILIM EX S2

Tiny and light; simple to use; speedy.

Subpar image quality; shutter release too close to power button; no optical zoom.

What this ultracompact 2-megapixel camera lacks in substance, it makes up for in style.

A fantastically small yet versatile camera- take it everywhere and never miss a picture!

I recently bought the Casio EXILIM EX-S2 because I wanted a camera which I could literally slip in my pocket and yet have good enough pictures to print or view online. I've got a decent SLR and so I wasn't looking for a very high resolution or optical ...

Tiny and lightweight but good build quality. Easy to use, fast startup, very clear LCD.

Poor outdoor light handling, slow shutter speed, no macro feature and no case.
