Well, the magic word is interpolation. To Fuji's credit, they aren't pushing this camera that produces 4.3 Mpixel images anymore. Originally, there was a "4.3M" above the SuperCCD sticker. On the production units, it's nowhere to be seen (see above) on...

As far as the interpolation issue goes, noise is noticeable when you blow up the pictures, but when you print them on a nice photo printer (such as my Epson 1270), you'll never know it.
