As the name implies, Kodak has gone down the simple route with the M583, and done a good job of it too. This nicely designed piano-black camera eschews manual modes in favour of four groups of scene selections.

Take a long time to get use to all the options.

This camera uses a microSD card. The Product Details and Accessories tabs state that this camera uses the regular SDHC cards and not the microSD cards. The camera is a great camera but we purchased the wrong memory card and had to exchange.
