Nikon Coolpix L2 review

Nikon Coolpix L2

Easy to use; excellent image quality for an inexpensive camera; useful macro mode; effective D-Lighting feature; attractive design.

Extremely limited image options; average performance.

The no-frills Nikon Coolpix L2 is slow, but its pictures are quite good.

Nikon Coolpix L2 Digital Camera - Full Review - The Imaging Resource!

Slimmed down stylish design in attractive gun-metal grey color ; Well-built body with smooth curves ; easy to hold ; Good quality lens provides decent overall sharpness ; Images had good color even under harsh lighting ; Excellent macro performance ;...

Max ISO sensitivity limited to 200 and always set automatically ; Slower than average shutter response ; 3x zoom control is noisy and slow ; Resolution low for 2-inch LCD screen ; High image noise in dim light and when flash is used at distances much...

Features are also pretty impressive in a camera this small and relatively inexpensive. Along with a 6MP CCD image sensor, the Nikon Coolpix L2 has a 3x optical zoom lens, a 2-inch LCD screen and Nikon's helpful Feature System which includes D-Lighting...

Nikon Coolpix L2 Review

Clearly, Nikon has cut too many corners with the Coolpix L2. The lens, which delivers good sharpness, is betrayed by strong barrel distortion at wide-angle and a very narrow aperture (F5.3) at telephoto.

Nicely saturated image colors, Reliable metering, Great macro focusing, Built-in camera guide, Easy to handle, Good LCD visibility

High image noise, No control over ISO, Poor automatic white balance under artificial light, Slow lens at telephoto, Some barrel distortion, Overly slow

Nikon Coolpix L2

The L2 has limited shooting controls, but it's capable of producing some great-quality shots.

Indoors however, it produced the best image on test. It nailed the white balance and, in addition to quick focusing, the oversharpening led to great resolution. With the lack of noise and perfect exposure, it beat more expensive cameras. But without a...

Nikon Coolpix L2

One of the cheapest Nikon digital cameras you can buy the L2 is a typical point and shoot model. Ease of use and a low price are certainly amongst its biggest attractions.

Ease of use ; Build quality ; No red eye in test shot

Indoor shots ; Shutter lag

"The Nikon Coolpix L2 looks good and I like the build quality of this camera. It is certainly a step ahead of many similar models. Picture quality is mixed though and I feel there are other six megapixel, point and shoot models offering better value...
