Nikon Coolpix S7c

E-mail pictures wirelessly sans computer with Nikon's latest Wi-Fi–enabled digital camera.

Easy-to-use Coolpix Connect e-mail feature. Attractive design. Excellent 3-inch LCD screen. Nice price considering all its abilities. Very good image quality.

Some wireless functions can be confusing. Performance could be better. Noticeable shutter lag. Can't e-mail full-resolution shots.

Nikon Coolpix S7

Nikon takes the lead in the wireless-camera race by including some novel features on its cool new shooter, such as the ability to e-mail your photos directly from the device. Still, it's far from perfect.

Nikon Coolpix S7c review

Nikon introduced Wi-Fi to its S series of slim cameras earlier this year with the Coolpix S6 . While we liked the camera overall, we questioned the value of the Wi-Fi, since it let you upload only to your computer or print to a printer that was...

Great click wheel; attractive, slim design; supports photo e-mail from T-Mobile access points; solid color reproduction.

Annoying top buttons; no proxy Wi-Fi access other than T-Mobile.

Nikon adds T-Mobile hot-spot access to its slim Wi-Fi camera and continues to deliver the image quality we enjoyed in the S6.

Nikon Coolpix S7c Digital Camera - Hands-On Preview

The Nikon Coolpix S7c taps into some smart electronics to compensate for the compromises inherent in small camera design. As a result, the Coolpix S7c is as attractive for its image quality as it is for its styling. The hidden benefit is that you can...

Camera Review: Nikon Coolpix S7c

Camera Review: Nikon Coolpix S7c18208255528NikonCoolpix S7cThere are cameras built for performance, and then there are cameras built for fun. The Nikon Coolpix S7c ($280 street) definitely falls into the latter category. That's not to say it doesn't...

Nikon Coolpix S7c

Other new features on the S7c include more pixels (7MP vs 6MP on the S6), a slightly different lens (in terms of maximum aperture), a more powerful flash, Electronic Vibration Reduction, and new high ISO options. What hasn't changed? The S7c still has...

Compact and stylish metal body ; Built-in 802.11b/g for wireless photo transfer and e-mailing (though see issues below) ; Huge, sharp 3-inch LCD display with nice viewing angle; screen is visible in low light ; Tons of scene modes ; In-camera help...

Significant blurring around edges of frame; vignetting; images overall on the soft side ; Above average barrel distortion at wide-angle ; Redeye (despite the fancy removal tools) ; Slow and clunky Wi-Fi implemention ; Misleading "VR" branding on...

At the end of the day, my job is to help people spend their hard-earned money wisely on a digital camera. While it has much to offer, the S7c falls short of the competition -- mostly due to sub-par photo quality -- but for plenty of other reasons as...

Nikon Coolpix S7

The Nikon Coolpix S7 is one of the cameras announced with a bunch of other Nikon ultra-compacts. The camera offers 7 megapixels, a large LCD and an internal zoom lens. With everyone coming up with a "me too" camera like this, how does the S7 perform...

Stylish design ; Many scene modes and Best Shot mode ; Large LCD with good visibility and resolution ; Nice movie mode

Below average battery life ; So-called "VR" is actually electronic (not optical) ; Limited continuous shooting, so-so camera performance ; Plastic tripod mount, tiny buttons ; No manual controls, exposure info or histograms to be seen ; Image quality...

The Nikon Coolpix S7 is yet another slim and stylish compact camera with a non-extending lens and big LCD. As with most other cameras of its class, it has no manual controls but is abundant with scene modes. Despite the fancy looking features, the S7...
