Expert Review

The R40 is a great compact model. It doesn't offer anything really innovative, but the solid image quality combined with a wide angle lens and a larger than normal zoom make it a nice choice

Well balanced shots, Wide angle lens, Looks great

Nothing of note

Excellent

I have had my Richo R40 for about 3-4 years now and it's still going wonderfully. The video function is a little grainy, but I didn't want it for video anyway, I have a video camera for that. It manages to take photos in fairly low light and the macro...

Light and small. Takes fantastic photos. Great battery life. Good zoom.

None realy. I love it.

Bad

The r40 started out as the bullet proof camera I was after while traveling through europe, then the issues began. Firstly with close to a full gig of photos on the memory the camera lagged big time when accessing the review photo menu, secondly the...

quality feel, huge optical zoom for such a small camera, long battery life.

durability when traveling.

OK

We had a Canon powershort before and this camera is just as easy to use but is smaller and more economical because of the rechargeable battery. Whenever I went to use the old powershort the batteries would either be dead or within minutes of use would...

small but large screen for it's size, macro function is great for close ups, love the rechargeable battery and it does last a very long time

the video function is quite often grainy

Good

This camera is cute, light, can fit in your pocket and best of all it takes the photo in an instant. You don't have to wait a few seconds before the photo is taken. Good price. Photos come out great. I am really happy with this camera.

Small compact, lightweight, Instant photos
