Samsung L100 and S760 digital cameras

Point-and-shoot cameras are continuously going up in quality and down in price, as proven by Samsung's latest efforts; the S760 and L100. The basic model, the S760, will set you back $199, while it's more sophisticated sibling comes in at $299

100 might not seem like a big difference in these cameras, especially considering they are from the same manufacturer, but as you can see from the sample shots, the quality can be poles apart

Samsung Digimax S760

The Samsung Digimax S760 is one of the better entry level digital cameras. I am especially impressed by the sharpness of the photos. The camera also scores well for ease of use and shutter delay.

Shutter lag times for entry level model - manual exposure control - overall picture quality

Macro mode could improve

This is one of the best entry level digital cameras on the market. I was very impressed with my test shots. The Digimax S760 produced a series of shots that are some way above average. The camera is also easy to use and has a low price tag.

Samsung S760 Digital Camera

First off, this is quite a nice looking camera and I figured that Samsung's been pretty reliable so far, so I thought I'd try things out with this one.

Overall, this is a fine enough camera, if you are not intending to be bringing it on rugged trips. Pictures come out good enough for sharing online or even printing. Just hope that it doesn’t decide to throw a tantrum during your priceless moments.

Samsung S760

A great camera for beginners, and even for people that have experience, but uses way too much battery life, and Face Detection doesn't always work out. With a 2GB SD Card, and with highest quality and lowest size (1024x768), you can take up to 4147...

Great picture and video quality ; Big Screen ; Pre-loaded effects (b+w, sepia, negative, custom colours, and red, green, or blue tints) ; Manual mode for advanced users ; DIS (Digital Image Stabilization) is included, and works quite good ; Easy to use...

Plastic feels quite cheap, and not that scratch resistant ; Uses batteries way too fast ; Freezes quite often

A user friendly P&S. Easy to use features include Face Detection and Digital Image Stabilization proves useful for beginners like myself. Very affordable at S$139.00 but drains battery quite quickly. 2 Alkaline battery is good for about 70 shots only....

Samsung S760

I was intitially very hesitant about choosing this camera for 2 reasons: 1. At $89.99 (regular price) I did not believe this could be a decent performing camera, 2. Preferred a LI-ion battery. I gave the camera a chance despite its price tag and have...

Excellent picture quality even in low light, high res LCD screen, digital image stabilization, face recognition, self portrait mode, good programs, easy to navigate, records video w/ sound, bonus voice recorder, cute and compact, choice of 4 colours

Battery type (AA) adds a bit of weight to the 123g camera (still light), plastic construction
