Sony Cybershot DSC-T33 Camera

Sony's 5.1-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-T33 is cleverly designed and compact. This $450 unit, roughly the size of a deck of cards, looks like a fancy silver-plated cigarette box; the front and back are smooth, with no bulky bits sticking out. Its slimness...

Sony's bundled Picture Package software accompanies the DSC-T33, as well as other Cyber-shot models. It provides slide-show options, CD-R burning, and video CD burning along with the image-download tool, but that's about it

Digital Cameras - Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T33 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

The DSC-T33 continues a Sony tradition of high quality in the subcompact category, packing more features into a smaller space than pretty much anything else out there, but with a new spin: the T33 is affordable. Most impressive is how few tradeoffs...

Ultra-slim form factor, literally shirt-pocket sized, Rich feature set for a subcompact, Excellent shutter response, much faster than average autofocus performance, Good continuous shooting speed, very good buffer depth (9 large/fine frames), Very good...

A good lens, but both barrel and pincushion distortion are higher than average, Significant blur on the right side of images at near-wide angle zoom, Aggressive noise suppression reduces detail at high ISO, Poor low-light performance due to short...

A fair question for those familiar with the very similarly-featured but $150 more expensive Sony T7 might be "what's the difference?" The answer is precious little, other than the very noticeable difference in body thickness between the two. In fact,...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T33

How does the ultra-thin DSC-T33 perform in our tests? Find out now in our review

Good photo quality (though see issue below) ; Ultra-thin, stylish metal body ; Huge 2.5" LCD is very usable in bright outdoor light (though see issues below) ; Robust performance ; AF-assist lamp; good low light focusing ; First-rate movie mode ; Live...

Images are on the soft and fuzzy side ; Weak flash ; Redeye ; USB, video out ports, as well as tripod mount only found on the camera dock ; LCD hard to see in low light ; No optical viewfinder ; Flimsy plastic door over MS/battery compartment ; Watch...

If you want a "go anywhere" camera that will be used mostly outdoors, I definitely recommend the DSC-T33. If you'll be taking a lot of flash or low light shots, you'll do better with another camera.

Sony CyberShot DSC-T33

Shortly after the CyberShot T3's introduction, Sony decided to widen its ultra-compact digital camera range with yet another 5.1 MP model. The CyberShot DSC - T33 features a slim metal body which reassembles but still improves aesthetically the...

Last but not least, this camera's price is high compared to the competition, but this is justified to some extent by it's image and quality. Yet it remains more expensive than equally well-built cameras with more photographic potential.

Sony Cyber-Shot T33

The sliding cover found on the T1 is now gone on the Sony Cyber-shot T33, which also adds a few improvements such as a higher resolution Hybrid 2.5 inch LCD. Some great features carried over from the T1 include good battery life, unlimited VGA movies...

New stylish design ; Large and clear 2.5 inch LCD ; Many of scene modes ; Excellent movie mode ; USB 2.0

No manual controls ; Weak flash ; Flimsy battery/Memory Stick slot door ; Lots of red-eye ; Soft photos and blown out highlights ; Barrel distortion ; Not so good indoor shooting performance

The Sony Cyber-shot T33 is a stylish and thin camera which is fast and has lots of scene modes but has no manual controls. Photo quality on the T33 is overall below average. While the T33 is pocketable and is great for everyday outdoor shots, indoor...

Sony DSC T33 Digital Camera Review (pics, specs)

The Sony DSC-T33 continues the Sony Cybershot T line of popular thin styled point and shoot digital cameras.

Fantastic light weight, slim design make this a cinch to carry and very stylish ; 2.5" bright LCD is great for viewing in outside light even, easy to frame shots with ; 5.1 MegaPixels in such a small device is a big plus ; No moving lens and quick...

You could get a 5.0 MegaPixel camera from Canon for $150 less ; No viewfinder ; Docking cradle is lightweight and cheap feeling ; Sony only includes 32MB memory card, unless you have Memory Stick Duo cards already (smaller than regular Memory Stick and...

A small folktale is in due order here -- in 1994 Sony manager Shizuo Takashino was told by his staff that Sony's new videocamera couldn't get any smaller because there was no more space inside to eliminate, he challenged them to dunk it in a bucket of...

Sony Cyber-shot DSCT33

Sony's 5.1 megapixel Cyber-shot DSCT33 is cleverly designed and compact. Its roughly the size of a deck of cards and looks like a fancy silver-plated ...

Ultra–slim, large LCD, quick to power up

Awkward positioning of the power button and microphone, colour balance a little off

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T33 can take pleasing photos, but its most attractive aspects are its 2.5' LCD and ultrathin body.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T33

Besides a facelift, Sony's latest Cyber-shot T33 sports some refinements internally as well.

Small size ; Fast startup ; Easy to use ; Good looks ; High resolution ; Large LCD ; Improved shot-to-shot intervals with flash

Slight tendency to blow out highlights ; Impractical for night shooting ; No optical viewfinder

The Cyber-shot T33 retails for less than what the T1 did at its launch, arriving with a sticker price of AU$899. Still, that's a tidy sum to part with for just a slightly updated package. Before you ultimately decide to buy, or not, do factor in the...
