Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T50

Slim and sexy, the Cyber-shot DSC-T50 has oodles of style and takes decent shots.

Beautiful 3-inch touch screen LCD. Wonderful design. Very good performance. Large text and on-screen buttons make it easy to navigate through menus.

A bit pricey. Some images too noisy. Lousy burst mode. No glass viewfinder.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T50 review

Lately, it seems as if Sony is putting out a new T-series camera every other week. The newest addition to this hip line of snapshooters is the Cyber Shot DSC-T50. Like the T30, it features a 7.2-megapixel CCD sensor; optical image stabilization; a 3X...

Optical image stabilization; solid image quality; 58MB internal memory.

Slow f/3.5 maximum aperture; too reliant on touch screen.

The Sony Cyber Shot DSC-T50 keeps the better features of the DSC-T30, but adds a touch screen interface we could've lived without.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T50 Digital Camera - Hands-On Preview

Sony Cybershot DSC-T50 Pro Review

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T50 is a small, light, simple point-and-shoot digital camera with a unique on screen touchscreen menu navigation. Turning on the camera and taking pictures is very easy and the on screen touch navigation is intuitive and easy to...

High quality Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens, Good image quality at low ISO, Compact body, Sony's Super SteadyShot anti-blur system, 3.0-inch LCD display, Touchscreen LCD display, Live histogram display in capture and playback modes

No aperture or shutter priority mode, Not enough manual control

The Cyber-shot DSC-T50 is a nice, comfortable, pocket-sized digital camera with good auto exposure metering and image quality. The Auto mode works well and the 3-inch touchscreen LCD makes the camera a joy to use. The camera performed very well in low...

Sony Cyber-Shot T50

I wouldn't consider the new Sony T50 to be an upgrade to the T30 but here it goes: The Cyber-shot T50 takes the T30, strips most of its buttons and replaces that large 3 inch LCD with a touchscreen unit. Other than that, it's basically the same camera....

3x internal lens with optical image stabilization ; Strong flash at high ISO speeds ; Excellent battery life ; Large and visible LCD ; Nice close-up modes ; Very good movie mode with zoom ; Good image quality

Clunky touchscreen interface (More menus than usual) ; No manual controls ; Slow and limited continuous shooting ; Redeye and edge sharpness issues

The Sony Cyber-shot T50 is takes everything from the T30, throws away most of its buttons and puts in a touchscreen panel. Other things remain the same; 7 megapixels, internal lens with an image stabilizer, movie mode and LCD visibility.

Of course Sony was presented at the Photokina show, but actually did not had much news to unveil. The new Sony T50 was introduced in September 2006 and features a 1/2.5-inch 7.2 Megapixel Super HAD CCD image sensor. This little digital compact camera...

Slim, sexy and so touchable...

Sharp, colourful and well-exposed images ; Excellent metal body and a good quality of manufacture ; Good value

No optical viewfinder

This is a camera for your mum. It's a point-and-shoot job so don't go looking for any manual modes or any clever stuff
