Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 is a svelte point-and-shoot with a long 10x zoom lens. It produces sharp photos and does well at high ISOs, but more serious shooters may be turned off by the lack of physical control buttons.

Compact. Long zoom range. Sharp lens. Good high ISO performance. Simultaneous video and still capture. Unperceivable shutter lag

Limited physical controls

The WX150 is a speedy performer. It can start and shoot in 1.4 seconds and its shutter lag is so short that it's practically nonexistent. Instead of a standard continuous drive mode, the WX150 supports burst shooting. It can grab a burst of 10 shots...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 review

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 is a bit of surprise. Last year, Sony's high-end 10x zoom camera, the HX7V , though pocketable, was still a chunk of camera. The WX150, on the other hand, gets the same zoom range -- 25mm to 250mm -- but in a slimmer,...

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 is a very fast, 10x zoom ultracompact with lots of automatic shooting options, and very good photo and video quality.

The WX150's 18-megapixel resolution is of little use and its small, lightweight body can make it difficult to keep the zoom lens steady.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 is an excellent little camera that doesn't sacrifice features and performance for size.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150

With about the same physical specifications as the cheaper W690, the WX150 trades the latter's CCD for an 18.2 megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS sensor. While this switch should yield better low-light results, the new ultra-high resolution sensor has...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 is a compact camera that packs a punch. It has a 10x optical zoom, an 18-megapixel resolution and excellent photo and video quality. The camera's small size makes it a little difficult to keep steady while shooting, so...

Expert Review

Compact body with long zoom range. Excellent high ISO performance. Capability to capture video and still images simultaneously

Restricted physical controls

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 is a slender and graceful point-and-shoot camera with impressive 10x zoom lens. It works great for basic photography needs with its brilliant features and high-end technology. But, the lack of physical control buttons would...

Consumer review (cnet.com)

Many positives with a few annoying problems.

This camera replaces my 4-yr old Sony DSC-W150 (bath in the ocean). I often shoot one-handed while doing something else like climbing, rafting or kayaking (risky as I found out). The control wheel on the back is way too easy to move and frequently as I...

Quick, great photo quality, light and compact.

Control wheel on the back is far too sensitive and often gets triggered by mistake in the middle of a photo opportunity. Sony's customer service is lacking. Buy from a store rather than directly from Sony - where you can get immediate help.

Superb compact camera!

This really is a great little pocket camera about the size and weight of a pack of cards, that has all the bells and whistles, and is super easy to use. Don't let the small size fool you, it will perform beautifully whether you use auto or manual...

Easy to use, has 'on-board' help in menu if you need assistance. Menu choices give short descriptions to assist in deciding what mode to use to obtain best photo. Video motion stabilization makes movement appear VERY smooth - a big plus!

None, it's just what I was looking for.
