Hitachi DV-RX7000A

Up against the current crop of recorders, even in the entry level space, it ends up just being an average player.

Can read Hitachi DVD-camera discs natively.

Expensive compared to the entry-level competition. Slow to initialise playback. Poor OSD.

Hitachi's DV-RX7000A would have been a more compelling recorder twelve months ago, but up against the current crop of recorders, even in the entry level space, it ends up just being an average player.

Hitachi DV-RX7000A

Hitachi rx7000A - Good machine in principle - except that it plays hardly any DVD's! probably region codes - is coded as region 4 but won't play some region 4 or All DVD's - like many from the local video hire shop

Good, slim unit

Has Region issues. Has to go through a modulator to our ageing TV with only an aerial in. PLEASE send a link to a region hack if anyone finds one

"Excellent value for money"

This seems to be a re-badged Samsung R 100. It definitely has to unique Samsung shaped remote, and operating system.

Hitachi DV-RX7000A

hitachi dv-rx7000a review: Up against the current crop of recorders, even in the entry level space, it ends up just being an average player.

Convenience, ease of use. The remote works very well as a universal remote once you set it up properly., Can read Hitachi DVD-camera discs natively

Needs a digital free to air tuner, then you could record higher quality free to air channels., Expensive compared to the entry-level competition, Slow to initialise playback, Poor OSD

Hitachi's DV-RX7000A would have been a more compelling recorder twelve months ago, but up against the current crop of recorders, even in the entry level space, it ends up just being an average player.
