Terrible

I have 2 of these machines - mine had to have the DVD mechanism repaired/replaced within the first year. The replacement drive barely lasted another year and was burning table coasters most of the time, and then wouldn't play CDs, DVDs and even DVDs...

Looks neat and potentially provides good service but...

Where do I start? Unreliable, unstable, limited in certain ways (not always able to multi-task) and the DVD writer is hopelessly pathetic in terms of lasting...

OK

We had this player for some time without any faults, but then it started to freeze when it tried playing certain discs and the only way to shut it off was to hold the power button in for 5 secs. Navigating the menus is easy enough, but if you need to...

Good price. Easy to use.

Fails to play some discs for some reason, even if it has played them before.

In general, there is no way I'd recommend this product. There appear to be some serious design flaws in the underlying software and logic design which were only fixed by downloading firmware update hacks off the web. Customer service were next to...

Not much really. It seem over priced but due to a "clerical" error we received a 70% discount/ Go Harvey Norman Go!!

Once the HDD is over half full, the sound drops out of synch (by 2-3 seconds). Really annoying since we only picked up on that after getting back from holiday.

Bad

At first this machine was a dream, but early on it started getting very fussy if the disc you wanted to play was not perfect, now it wont even play some store bought discs (after 3 years) From about 6 months old the disc tray refused to eject, you had...

Good looking unit, easy to use

Very fussy playing disks, disk door sticks shut, takes forever to switch on, disks burned from this machine unplayable on anything else.

Excellent

I have been using this product since it first came onto the market and am thoroughly satisfied with it. Every time it has malfunctioned( about 3 times) it has come good every time by using the Reset facility(i.e. Hold down the on/off button for 10 secs...

Everything. I am totally happy with this product.

The Manual is extremely comprehensive and needs a lot of reading to get the best out of it. If the Manual is followed to the letter the machine does exactly as it promises.

As far as the RH7521W HDD/DVD player is concerned, life's NOT so good! My next player will not be LG!

NONE - Would NOT recommend this to other consumers! Buy a Panasonic or Sony!!

Gee, wish I'd had these reviews when I purchased this over 2 years ago!! Worked fine at first, but now the DVD player will not play DVDs ... any DVDs! The old 'unknown disc' just keeps popping up. Tried to arrange to have it fixed under warranty but...

Terrible

We bought our dvd player/ recorder about 12 months ago. It was great for the first few months, but now, it does not play any disks. It has a message come up, saying, un known disk, and that is any disk, burnt, and bought! However, the Hard Drive still...

This is a huge disappointment. I recently bought a second dvd player and could not find any player that will recognise burned format. This has made all my previously burned dvds useless. Given the self-life of dvd players, this is a huge issue. DO NOT...

The hard drive is easy to use, and the playback, while slow is good.

My computer and any other dvd player cannot read the recorded disks. Errors in playback on every other dvd player.

Initially I thought this was a fantastic buy, as we didn't experience any problems with it for simple record and play. It wasn't until I started to utilise some of the features such as the edit function and dvd player, that I found this less user...

I like the 100x skip function for fast forwarding recorded programs. Nice and quick to skip through the boring ads. Easy to rename files, good feature. Edit adverts (or anything else) and combine programs to make it one recording.

Have had this item for approx one year and in the last six months, the lip sinc is out now when watching all recorded programs, new and old. In the past few months, all shows that are recorded, are pixelated. (The picture is fine if I am watching tv...
