Philips DVDR3455H

This low-priced recorder looks stylish and has a great remote, but it lacks a commercial-skip function and won't copy from a DVD to its hard drive.

I looked at every DVD/HDD recorder out there and bought this because it was the only one that most closely emulates the "TIVO" function, i.e., natively allowing pausing, reviewing, and chasing of live content. That part works great, except that the...

Excellent media compatibility (+/-R,RW), 160GB HDD, 1394a AND USB inputs, great tuner, flexible recording features, well-built, relatively easy to use, full-time 6-hour buffer allows live pause, rewind and fast forward functions WHILE recording....

PHILIPS DVDR3455H Hard Disk/DVD Recorder

All in all a good buy.

Does as advertised. Records to different format DVD discs. Records quickly and allows edits of the disc before finalizing it

Poor remote. Buttons small and too close to eachother & have to push buttons hard. Poor colors on the menus, hard to see
