ReplayTV PC Edition

ReplayTV is reborn into sophisticated software for advanced DVR functionality.

Extensive search options. Recorded video easily played on other Windows systems. Easy to add storage. Cheaper than TiVo or cable-company DVRs.

Requires Hauppauge video hardware. Doesn't currently support multiple tuner cards or high-definition video. Unless your graphics card has a TV output, you'll have to use your computer monitor as the television. Subject to recording hiccups.

another advantage: you can increase your recording capacity more easily than with a standalone dvr, simply by upgrading your computer's hard drive or adding new drives. in addition, replaytv saves its recordings in a dvr-ms (.dvr-ms) windows media...

The company that invented the DVR is re-inventing it. ReplayTV has left the living room to TiVo, last-generation ReplayTV recorders, and cable and satellite providers that offer DVRs as a premium feature.
