Unfriendly design

Bought this to replace a Philips DVD. Looks good, but in use is less than user friendly, has an odd picture quality and will "pop out" of Dolby Digital mode when it changes tracks or layers on the disc.

Very slim profile, CD-RW compatible

JVC XV-S40 DVD Player

JVC recently brought out the XV-S40BK DVD player as the Year-2001 replacement for last year's XV-523GD. The JVC's are known for their "champagne gold" front faces. The XV-S40BK's identical twin is the XV-S45GD in the famous champagne gold color scheme....

DVD-Video, CD, VCD, CD-R, CD-RW, complete set of outputs, good price.

You can get prog-scan for a little bit more.
