The LG DVD DR787T that I spent about $175 for new would not play approx. 40% of the DVD's that I rented. The video store eventually became wary of me returning videos. I didn't even attempt to learn the rest of the features due to the fact that it ...

It played about 60% of the DVDs I enjoyed.

Approximately 40% ineffective on standard playback! Too big to be used as a paperweight.

Life's Not so Good With LG

 

Records in 16X9 format. Others record in 3X4 letter box. Tuner satisfactory. Good picture.

Up-converts from front panel operation only.Remote is user unfriendly.

Garbage

 

Looks Good, has a good zoom feature.Digital TV tuner was pretty nice too.

Just hope yours works well, because you can't rely on LG to help you out.

I purchased this thing in May of 2007. Within a month, I tried my first recording. I had a DVD-RW stop recording before the program was done and got the message that it was a defective disk. I gave the machine the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe...

Looks Good, has a good zoom feature.Digital TV tuner was pretty nice too.

Just hope yours works well, because you can't rely on LG to help you out.

No digital cable tuner

 

The recorder can record in VR format on -RW disks.

No digital cable tuner. No flexible recording. Remote control of tv's limited.

Lots of problems, but little competition in its niche.

 

Good recorded image quality. Digital recording of analog and digital broadcasts.

Can't decode all digital channels. Timer clock loses time. Burned DVD's have limited compatibility.

I bought this unit about the 4th of July. It is now mid-October. This was my first tuner capable of digital reception. It's now ten days past its 90-day labor warranty. Here in Northern Colorado, there aren't many off-air digital stations to choose ...

A decent DVD recorder with QAM tuner

 

QAM digital tuner, good picture quality, quality recordings in the 1 and 2 hour mode.

DVD player rattles, a bit junky, clock loses time, buy the extended warranty.
