You get what you pay for

Stock remote has a range of about three feet. Won't work with any universal remote I've tried. Player itself has very basic functionality. Good as a cheap player for the kids, but not much else.

Confusing / Bad Remote Control

So far so good

I bought this yesterday at Walmart, it was the cheapest one they had. We've watched one movie and my kids have been watching Elmo dvds all morning and it seems to be working fine. It's longer (deeper) than my old dvd player, but it gets the job done...

Save your money on this

Remote does not work. I returned it for a new remote but the second remoted worked the same as the first. Has no functions. Cannot rewind all you can do is play the movie. Works when it wants too. I am now spending more money to buy a better DVD.

waste of money

I got this as a christmas gift. Right out of the box, I hooked it up using the YPbPr cable (red, green, and blue). The first time I played a movie in it, the picture was blue and pink, and in doublevision. Returned it to the store and got a new one of...

don't waste your time

If you have a desire to be frustrated, buy this item. If you like standing in return lines, this is the product for you. If you don't enjoy either of those things, don't buy the Memorex DVD player.

Broke in 2 weeks, played dvd once!

Buy this if you feel like throwing your money away.  Sure it was $35 at Target.  But it died after playing one dvd, and it wasn't like we abused it.  Never dropped, not manhandled, it just stopped working.
