Panasonic DMP-BD35

The energy-efficient Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-ray player delivers an admirable picture but handles discs slowly.

1080p24 DVD upconversion. Energy-efficient. Can automatically update firmware.

1080p24 DVD upconversion feature needs to be manually activated. Sluggish menu navigation. BD-Live support requires optional memory card.

Panasonic DMP-BD35 - Blu-ray disc player review: Panasonic DMP-BD35 - Blu-ray disc player

Panasonic DMP-BD35 - Blu-ray disc player

Excellent image quality on Blu-ray Discs; Profile 2.0 compliant; onboard decoding for all high-resolution soundtrack formats, plus bit-stream output.

PlayStation 3 offers much more functionality and faster navigation, although it costs more.

The Panasonic DMP-BD35 represents the best value in standalone Blu-ray players, with excellent image quality, a comprehensive feature set, and a price that's significantly lower than the PS3.

Panasonic DMP-BD35K

Panasonic has done a great job with the DMP-BD35K, and it's easily a best-in-class Blu-ray player. And it's available at a price that won't break the bank. It does an outstanding job of delivering a true HD experience, even with your existing DVDs. ...

Panasonic DMP-BD 35

Great 24p movie picture., BD-Live support., Outstanding DVD playback., SD-card reader for photos and videos., Decodes digital, 7.1-channel, HD audio.

No analog multichannel output., Film mode for DVDs must always be set manually.

At the time of the DMP-BD 35's introduction (summer 2008), no other player offered so many functions. The first device to top this was actually Panasonic's successor-model, the BD 60, which can, for example, also access YouTube videos. Still, for just...

One of the other cool features this player provides is playback of photos, video, and music from the SD card slot. Panasonic includes an SD card with some demo material already on it, and I was surprised at how easy it was to use this function. When I...

Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-ray Player Reviewed

At CEDIA 2008, Panasonic showed off two new Blu-ray players, the DMP-BD35 ($300) and the step-up DMP-BD55 ($400). Both players are Profile 2.0, which means they support BonusView/picture-in-picture content and BD-Live Web functionality, and both sport...

Panasonic DMP-BD35

Panasonic's DMP-BD35 is a fantastic entry-level Blu-ray disc player.

Very good picture quality, stylish, good price, Blu-ray Live

DVD up-scaling produces mixed results, no 7.1 analog audio outputs

If you're in the market for a Blu-ray player and you don't want to spend too much, the Panasonic DMP-BD35 represents excellent value for money.

Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-ray player

Back when Blu-ray was just a twinkle in its creator's eye, there was much talk about BD Live and how it would revolutionise the way we watch movies, but little did we know that there would be an arduous 2-year wait for the idea to come to fruition. But...
