Panasonic DMR-XW350 DVR

A YouTube-enabled DVR/DVD recorder with 250GB hard drive and dual HD tuners

Twin HD tuners, solid DVD upscaling, 250GB of inbuilt storage

Expensive, sluggish and complicated remote control

The Panasonic DMR-XW350 is a tricked-out DVD recorder that wont leave AV enthusiasts wanting. On the downside, the user interface is needlessly complicated, which makes it a steep learning curve for beginners.

Panasonic DMR-XW350

The Panasonic DMR-XW350 DVD recorder is similar to the XW450 in that you can watch Picasa and YouTube, but features a smaller 250GB hard drive.

Good user experience during first 12 months use

Very poor user experience since first 12 months, just after standard warranty expired

Panasonic DMR-XW350

I had the "HDD supposedly full yet it shows up as empty so I cant record anything and there is nothing to delete" problem - solution was to format the HDD via the function control button on the remote - select "other" then "setup" then HDD-disc" then...

a great player once you learn how to drive it

Volume Control

Why is it that when l plug and Ipod or USB drive into the DVD l have no control over the volume. That is when plugged into a Marantx SR6006 and l turn on zone two the amplifier volume control has no affect on the input volume from the DVD?

Panasonic DMR-XW450 Very disappointed.

I have a Panasonic DMR-XW450 which cost about $800 and has needed the tuner replaced. Purchased a similar Panasonic DMR-BWT720GL Sep, 2012 for $750. After 12m it started freezing during boot up, requiring several attempts. Recently it wouldn't boot up...

In the reliability stakes, it's worth every penny - for sure!

disk that is; a) not really worth backing up, and, b) I cannot bring myself to delete either! Plays DVD's without any trouble to speak of. If there's a problem, I found it's always the media, and never the machine at fault. Has a USB connector, which...
