A no-frills player that does the job.

I've been looking for a dvd player for a while, and recently settled on the Pioneer DV-333. I was faced with many options, ranging from $99 to $999. I didn't want to shell out a lot of money, but I didn't want a piece of junk.

good quality, svcd/vcd/cdr support, fast load times

no lighted remote

All DVD'd Up

Pioneer's DV-333 was on many year-end best of 2000 lists as it proved to be a great DVD entry point for the non-Early Adopter crowd.

Excellent picture, advanced connections, plays self-burned CDs

No progressive scan, marketing confusion

A great start for the DVD fanatic!

When Christmas rolls around, everybody is rushing to buy the best and the most expensive products because they automatically assume that the best is the one with the most dollar signs. Unfortunately, those people only end up with a DVD player just...

easy to use, simple, gets the job done, multi-functional

no "bells and whistles"

Great DVD for the price.

I finally decided to break down and buy a DVD player this past weekend.

Ease of use. Nice Remote. DD/DTS built-in. Easy to setup.

No built in 5.1 or 480p.

Pioneer DV-333 DVD Player

The entry-level DVD player, like the basic television set, has become a commodity item. Since the interlaced-resolution (non-progressive-scan) DVD players offer almost-uniformly-high picture quality, you should let price, features, and styling guide...

Plays CD-R's, Composite/S-Video/Component Output, Coax/Optical Surround Digital Surround Outputs

Limited to 480-Interlaced Output Resolution

First off, I am not an electronics expert by any means. But believe me when I say this is the best piece electronic component I have ever bought.

Pioneer DV-333

This is the second Pioneer piece of equipment I've owned. The first was a receiver I got for Christmas in like '85 or so. It did the job, was pretty cheap, and it worked well. It ran for FOREVER, and I ended up passing it on to someone else because...

Totally easy to use, plays everything

What cons?

DV-333 plays SVCD, Burnt Audio CD's, Great Audio!

When I first was looking for a DVD player I took a SVCD on a CDRW, a burnt audio CD on a CDR, and the Matrix DVD. They where my test disc.

Plays SVCD, Burnt Audio CD's, Digital Sound

No smooth scanning, no zoom, and display LCD is yellow.
