Sony DVP-NS715P

Nice-looking design; solid progressive-scan video performance; excellent disc compatibility; two sets of A/V and S-Video outputs; optical and coaxial digital-audio outputs.

No aspect-ratio or zoom controls; somewhat cramped remote; edge-enhanced interlaced output.

A capable performer encased in WEGA-matching silver, this Sony's short feature set is its only Achilles' heel.

After a long wait the NS715P is here.

Excellent Video and Audio Quality ; Excellent Menu browsing ; MP3 Browser on TV's screen with full name of song (scroll) on the front display as well ; Very Fast loading / access time ; 2 SVideo, 2 Video + 2 Audio, 1 Coax, 1 Optical ; All languages...

No Major weaknesses at the present time ; No backlit remote (if someone cares for that) ; Only available in Silver with Black Remote ; I couldn't find the Zoom yet (although it may exist - not sure)

Disappointed in my 715P

 

I am using this DVD player with a new 65" Mitsubishi HD-Ready TV. It is connected via Monster component video cables and optical digital connection.

Progressive scan, nice look

I got this player as a replacement for my old Apex player. I recently bought a widescreen television and wanted a progressive scan player.

Great DVD player, that does music well

 

The 715 replaces our old S360 which died on us...and I'm glad it did! I am a wannabee audiophile so my player needed to play music as well as it did movies.

Picture Quality, well priced progressive scan, plays music well

cheezy remote that isn't backlit, only comes in wega silver.

Sony ES quality with a poor boy budget in mind!

 

What a picture!! I tried MANY different DVD players, and this one takes the prize hands down. I had a panasonic, philips, and jvc, and even though the pictures were good, they couldn't hang with the Sony DVP-NS715P!! I'm using it in Progressive Scan...
