Performance

Sony DVP-NS975V

Improved video quality via HDMI on certain TVs; sleek design; adjustable picture controls; separate bass management for SACD; lip-sync delay control.

Inaccurate color decoding; no improvement in video quality on some TVs; cannot output custom, nonstandard HD resolutions.

Sony's DVP-NS975V digital deck has a slick design and makes a great complement to fixed-pixel displays that have digital inputs.

DVD Player DVP-NS975V

I received this player in early March, 05. The HDMI output failed after 2 weeks. I am in the process of getting a refund from Sony. They ran out of new exchange units.

Unacceptable.

My irritation with this Sony product caused me to finally join Epinions.

Unit is dead, and I'm out $200.

Great DVD Player

The HDMI to HDMI Unit is a Great Feature if your TV has the option.

Requires analog composite cable hook-Up for Multi-Channel SACD.

Sony DVP-NS975V DVD Player

Beautiful picture, when it works.

Absolutely unreliable. Unit should be recalled. Not up to Sony's historical quality/reliability.

Excellent DVD Player-When it works!

My first unit arrived DOA. Never had this problem with a Sony product before. Sony quality used to be one of the best. I had a 20+ year old Trinitron that died late last year (lost green in the picture tube). Never had a service call. Wish I ...
