Performance

Sony RDR-HX900

Excellent recording quality; high-speed DVR-to-DVD dubbing; sleek design; cool animated menus; top-notch connectivity options.

Ballyhooed TV Guide programming guide doesn't work with digital cable or satellite; half-baked DVR functionality; no repeat modes; pricey.

Sony's slick, promising 160GB DVR and DVD recorder combo is hobbled by a well-nigh useless programming guide.

AWESOME Machine!

I've owned this DVD recorder for over 3 years now and I absolutely love it! The TV Guide works fine for me and I have digital cable. It is not hooked up to the cable box, though, just from the wall. The TV Guide will reset itself once in awhile to...

Huge 160 GB hard drive, easy to use the TV Guide, compatible with other players

cannot watch a different program while recording

Easy to use, very good pictures, improves quality of VHS transfered to DVD.

Easy to use, efficient and powerful

Only 24 hours after I purchased what for me was a real discovery (I knew almost nothing about digital video recorders), I'm very satisfied with this product that I'm already using as if it had been here for many weeks. I could easily connect each of my...

Best so far, has pros and cons, but what is perfect?

I hesitated first, but finally I plunged in... Installation was a jiffy, no classes taken. You have a large setup template, then a good manual. Like I said before: PROS: 160gb HDD, Easy Menus, Auto-Sensitive detection of peripherals and ...

160GB HDD, Copious In/Outs, Intelligent Software, Manuals!

Misleading COMPONENT VIDEO INPUTS, USELESS! But Wait for BlueRay PVR AND MEDIA!
