Review: The All-new Kindle Oasis upgrades to warmer light and lighter weight

Amazon's All-new Kindle Oasis is still the ultimate e-reader. In our review, modest improvements add more polish.

New color-adjustable front light lets you cool or warm the lighting ; Waterproof ; Light weight and sharp text makes it comfortable to read for hours

Can only play audiobooks from Audible ; Expensive

The All-new Oasis remains the ultimate Kindle. Its level of luxury is unparalleled in the e-reader category, and certainly no other reading device can match the range of content a Kindle can provide. Understandably, even the base-level Oasis won’t fit...

Amazon Kindle Oasis 2019, long-term test: A few features short of perfection | ZDNet

The latest top-end e-reader from Amazon offers adjustable backlighting warmth and is a pleasure to use. It would be even better with a case, an audio jack and a USB-C connector.

Kindle Oasis Review (2019, new version) – A better Black Friday buy

Kindle Oasis (2019) review: review, price, features and release details for Amazon's sleekest Kindle e-reader ever with a waterproof body and Audible

Big and sharp display;Page-turning buttons are great;New “warmth” display setting is nice on the eyes

With the Paperwhite being so good, the Oasis is a hard sell;Lack of USB-C is annoying;Minimal updates from the previous model

Warm feeling

Warm light undoubtedly improves reading experience ; Beautiful design ; Page turn buttons preferable to touch screen ; Huge library of books

Very expensive for what it is ; Still no USB-C

New front light functionality makes the best Kindle even better

Amazon Kindle Oasis review

If you’re looking for a premium ereader, you’re almost certainly looking at Amazon’s Kindle Oasis (or the Kobo Forma , but that doesn’t have the name recognition of Amazon’s Kindle range, which is synonymous with...

Great screen quality and improved features Can adapt font and size to reading preferences Premium reading experience

Expensive No speaker or headphone jack Thicker side doesn’t improve handhold

The Kindle Oasis is the most premium ereader experience right now, with a large, high-quality screen, automatic brightness and even display warmth settings. However, despite all its bells and whistles, the Oasis doesn’t quite feel like it justifies its...

Kindle Paperwhite and Oasis at lowest EVER prices for Amazon Prime Day

Our favourite ebook readers just got a whole lot more appealing - the two premium Kindle devices are now cheaper than ever

If the Paperwhite is so good, why bother with the Oasis? Well, for sheer luxury, it can’t be beaten. Its 7in 300ppi E Ink screen uses 25 LEDs for stunning brightness and panel uniformity, while the Paperwhite has just five LEDs. It’s also the only...

Amazon barely tried with its 2019 Kindle Oasis e-reader

What. A. Boring. Update.

New adjustable warm lighting • Screen still looks great • Waterproof • Clicky page advance buttons

Still expensive for an e-reader • No major upgrades compared to 2017 model • Harder-to-reach bottom button

With the exception of a new warm light feature, Amazon's 2019 Kindle Oasis is virtually unchanged, which is extremely disappointing.
