Nintendo Wii (Fall 2008)

The Wii, for all its adorableness, is best as a game console for children.

Easy to use and understand. Innovative gameplay. Great for families, large groups, and non-gamers. Requires more physical activity than typical video gaming.

Poor graphics, especially on large-screen HDTVs. Controller style can be irritating, depending on the game. Doesn't play DVDs.

Game Systems: Nintendo Wii

Nintendo Wii review by PC Magazine

Innovative controller. Fun add-on channels. Engaging game play. Easy to use and understand. Full GameCube support.

Poor graphics. Can't back up saved games. Doesn't play DVDs.

The Nintendo Wii is a fun, engaging, wildly innovative game console that's dramatically different from the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, and way more affordable, too.

Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii is Nintendo's fifth generation home gaming console and may prove to be their most innovative one to date. The Wii offers a completely new way to interact with video games by using a motion sensitive controller called the Wii remote. If...

Delivers fun and innovative new ways to play video games ; The cheapest of the current generation video game consoles ; Wii Sports is included with the console

Does not support High Definition graphics (720p, 1080i, or 1080p) ; Only supports the SD memory card format ; Batteries in controller are not rechargeable

The Wii is a great little console with a lot going for it. The motion sensing Wii remote adds a depth and realism to games that you just don't find anywhere else. It was as easy to setup and use as Nintendo advertises. I wish it had support for High...

Nintendo Wii Console Review

The Wii has arrived, and has revolutionized the way people can play video games at home. It may not have the horsepower of a PS3 or an Xbox 360, but it is a unique beast all its own. For what the Wii lacks in graphics, it makes up for in revolutionary...

While the Wii isn't the prettiest thing out there today, it is the cheapest and most innovative. Its wireless controller with motion detection will create new ways to play games, and allow game developers to create new titles that utilize the...
