Magellan RoadMate 1430

The widescreen RoadMate 1430 boasts many of the same high-end features of its premium Maestro siblings, without the premium price tag.

Multisegment routing. Live traffic information. Intuitive interface. Traffic receiver integrated into the case.

Some functions are sluggish. Occasional unexplained route recalculations.

The RoadMate 1430 has features similar to those of Magellan's luxury Maestro models. As the company's least expensive widescreen GPS model to offer live traffic, it's a pretty good deal.

Magellan RoadMate 1430 Review

The RoadMate 1430 is the latest model in Magellan's celebrated RoadMate product line.

Solid navigator that's easy to use. Oddly priced higher than the Maestro 4250.

Review: Magellan RoadMate 1430 GPS

New GPS devices come out every year. It seems to be a race to see who can add the most features and have the biggest screens. However, Magellan has taken a different approach with the RoadMate 1430.

I can definitely recommend this GPS to anyone looking for a device like this. The maps are the best of any GPS I have reviewed. The only problem I have is the price. When I think of a GPS I imagine something that will cost between $200 and $300;...

Magellan RoadMate 1430 GPS Navigator

While the turn-by-turn voice instructions from the Magellan were somewhat easy to follow, the prompts were too delayed and we actually missed one of the turns during our test. A map is available in a bird's-eye view so you can see your surroundings in...

Good GPS

This is a good overall, simple to use GPS. If you are worried that you might not be able to operate it, dont be. It is a simple little machine that will get you from point A to point B quickly and easily.

Easy to use

Haven't come across any cons yet

Great GPS

I had a Garmin Nuvi 350 first and had issues with very slow connection to the GPS sat's. I returned that to the store I got it from. This GPS is much faster to get a signal. The larger 4.3" screen is very nice and the POI's are much better the the...

Nice size, fast to aquire the GPS signal. Night mode is very nice. Maps fairly up to date. 6M POI and pre-loaded maps. Very nice unit

Screen can be a little washed out in direct sun light, had to update firmware out of the box. Mounting arm is a little large, power cable bulky. Support

Do Not Have to Worry About Getting Lost

My husband got this model for me because I wanted a GPS device and this model was the lowest priced. It is well worth it's price. It will get me where I need to go, however, occasionally it tries to take me a round about way. The map on the screen...
