AKG N700NC review: Sony and Bose headphones get some serious competition

AKG's excellent sounding noise-canceling headphone is a worthy contender that just needs to cost a little less.

The AKG N700NC sounds excellent for a wireless noise-canceling headphone, is built sturdily and is comfortable to wear. Its noise-canceling is quite effective and there's an Ambient Aware feature that lets you hear the outside world. Battery life is...

Not quite as comfortable as competing models from Sony and Bose. Its case is a little big.

This is an excellent noise-canceling headphone, but if Samsung-owned AKG wants to see it on more people's heads, it's going to have to lower its price to create some separation from top models from Bose and Sony.

AKG N700NC M2 Wireless Review

The AKG N700NC M2 Wireless are the next generation of the AKG N700NC Wireless. They have an adaptive active noise cancelling (ANC) system that automatically adju...

Adaptive ANC has excellent noise isolation performance. Comfortable and well-built. Parametric EQ available. Over 20 hours of continuous playback time.

Sub-par noise handling. Bulky design. Disappointing passive soundstage.

The AKG N700NC M2 are great for neutral sound. They have a slightly bass-heavy sound profile that delivers a touch of extra thump, rumble, and boom to mixes. That said, if you're looking for a more neutral sound profile, you can adjust their sound to...

AKG N700NC Wireless headphone review: Finally, noise-cancelling headphones an audiophile can love

These AKG headphones prioritize music reproduction over noise cancellation.

Excellent musical quality not typically found in noise-cancelling headphones ; Solid array of active noise-cancelling features ; Excellent battery life, but they can also be used as traditional headphones

Slightly bulkier than competing products from Bose and Sony ; Controls take some getting used to ; Headband tends to exert pressure on the top of your head after extended listening

In the world of noise cancellation, it’s difficult to find a pair of headphones that can serve as a best-of-breed reference for both music noise cancelling. You seemingly need to choose one or the other. AKG’s N700 NC Wireless come close to delivering...

AKG N700NC review: Stylish and functional

These noise-cancelling headphones are a worthy adversary for the likes of Bose and Sony. The bass-heavy sound appeals to a wide swath of listeners and the ANC technology can hush nearly any environment. If noise-cancelling performance is your main...

Excellent noise cancelling ; Compact design ; Ambient Aware ; Firmware updates via AKG app

Price ; microUSB charging ; No aptX, AAC only

AKG N700NC Review: Noise-Cancelling Headphones with Serious Style

A crisp sound signature combined with plush aesthetics, modern listening features and reliable ANC performance make the AKG N700NC an admirable addition to the noise-cancelling market. It's a few tuneups shy from competing against Bose's and Sony's...

Attractive design ; Proficient noise cancellation ; Rich, detailed sound ; Solid battery life ; Strong, wireless performance ; Companion app with personalized sound options

Listening modes need work ; Minimal codec support ; Leaks sound at high volume

The AKG N700NC has the sound quality and noise cancellation of a top-tier headphone, but it needs more to compete against Bose and Sony.

AKG N700NC Noise-Cancelling Headphones review

Solid noise-cancelling headphones that fall just short of greatness

Excellent build quality ; Rich and detailed sound ; Strong and reliable connection

Puts pressure on your head ; No aptX HD support ; Bulky travel case

The AKG N700NC are a well-rounded pair of wireless noise-cancelling headphones. We love the design, build quality and sound quality, however, they're not as comfortable nor as good at blocking out noise as the competition. Overall, they're a solid...

Consumer review (richersounds.com)

Very comfortable to wear and gret sound quality

I already own a pair of AKG headphones which I bought from Richer Sounds a few years ago. I use these when travelling and really like the sound quality. Since the lockdown I have been using my treadmill on a daily basis. To make this a little less...

Delighted with the quality of the product and service. I called Customer Services and due to the pandemic and shops not being open they were unable to tell me which branch had stock. I decided to ring my local branch and whilst they said they did not...
