Audeze iSine 10 in-ear headphone review: Looks weird, sounds fantastic

The $400 Audeze iSine 10 is a bit strange-looking for an in-ear headphone and its large, open design has its drawbacks, but it sounds fantastic.

The iSine 10 uses planar magnetic drivers, which sound very coherent and spacious, with low distortion. Included Cipher Lightning cable has a built-in DAC that improves sound quality for iPhone and iPad users. Comfortable to wear despite the odd shape.

Pricey. Open design leaks sound -- and allows sound in. Android users can't enjoy the benefits of the Cipher Lightning cable. The headphones don't fit everyone equally well.

Look past the odd design of the Audeze iSine 10, and you'll find some of the best-sounding in-ear headphones we've ever heard.

Audeze iSine 10 In-Ear Headphone with Cipher Cable Review

Audeze's iSine 10 creates a new category of earphones. Most headphones and earphones are minor variations on well-established themes.

Spacious sound ; Spectral balance with Cipher cable ; Comfort ; The most natural-sounding bass I’ve heard from an earphone ; Dynamic headroom ; Parametric EQ and crossfeed in iOS app ; Two shirt-clips, one for each cable ; A redesigned case

Parametric EQ and crossfeed in iOS app ; Two shirt-clips, one for each cable ; A redesigned case

THE AUDEZE ISINE 10 offers exceptional sound for their size and price, if you don’t need isolation.

Review: Audeze's Lightning-connected iSine 10 planar magnetic headphones are the best in-ear set we've ever heard

Almost everything about Audeze's iSine 10 headphones is audacious: the technology, the ambition, the appearance, and the sound itself. On paper they shouldn't work, but in practice they are some of the best sounding compact in-ear headphones money can...

Simply put, there's nothing else on the market like the Audeze iSine series. These headphones are truly one-of-a-kind, in basically every way.
