Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H9 noise-cancelling headphone review: A stunning refinement to a flagship

Refinements in comfort, battery life, and Google Assistant integration coupled with solid active noise cancellation make Bang and Olufsen's flagship headphones among the top choices for headphones at the $500

Sigature B&O sound in a wireless headphone ; Very good active noise cancellation ; Beautiful industrial design and luxurious materials ; Google Assistant onboard

Expensive. ; No support for the high-res Bluetooth codecs aptX HD or LDAC

I’ve simply smitten by B&O’s Beoplay H9 headphone. While relatively expensive at $500, the Beoplay H9 are one of those rare occasions where you get what you pay for. Premium materials are married to exquisite design and build quality. Coupled with...

B&O Beoplay H9 review

Love them or hate them, Beats headphones have normalized purchasing headphones that cost way too much. But with their ubiquity, there are some audio lovers out there who want to stand out from the crowd and aren’t afraid of paying a bit more to...

Stellar battery life Luxurious materials Effective noise cancellation

Overpowering bass No multipoint pairing Poor value

The B&O Beoplay H9 are luxury headphones that miss some key marks. Materials, battery life and active noise cancellation are great, but their overwhelming bass, lack of features and high price make them hard to recommend.

Very comfortable for long periods of wear ; Subtle noise-cancelling is excellent ; Wide soundstage and heaps of low-frequency without muddying the sound profile ; Longer-lasting battery life sets good standard

Significant asking price ; Noise-cancelling not as potent as some competitors ; Passive listen is a bit thin ; Bluetooth is a little too quiet ; Wind tear a potential problem ; Battery drains when ANC is idle ; Competition stronger than ever

As we said of the previous two iterations of the H9 before, it's all too easy to criticise these over-ears for their high price tag. But that would be to ignore the epic sound quality, supreme comfort, lovely build quality, and the notable battery...

Beoplay H9 review: Are B&O's newest headphones worth the price?

The Beoplay H9 headphones are exactly as advertised, but the price point makes them hard to recommend to non-enthusiasts.

Pristine sound quality ; Eerily quiet noise-cancellation ; High-quality construction

Mighty empty your wallet and then some
