Beats Solo Pro review

The Solo Pro is Beats most impressive set of headphones to date. There's a lot of features and tech packed in for solid noise cancellation, hands-free Siri and great sound quality. However, the nature of the on-ear design is that they have to pinch...

Excellent sound ; Improved design ; Solid ANC ; Hands-free Siri

Uncomfortable (especially for big heads) ; No 3.5mm jack for wired use ; No companion app for customization ; No automatic pausing

Beats Solo Pro review: beat the noise

If they fit you comfortably, these are the best Beats headphones yet.

Nicer design than past Beats headphones ; Effective noise cancellation ; Enjoyable sound quality ; Increased sweat resistance

Significant clamping force on your ears ; Might be too small for the big-headed crowd ; No auto-pause when removed ; Lightning connector, no USB-C

If they fit you comfortably, these are the best Beats headphones yet

Beats Solo Pro

The Beats Solo Pro headphones delivers quality noise cancellation with a bass-forward, but relatively balanced, sound signature.

Powerful audio performance with boosted bass and sculpted highs. Solid noise cancellation blocks out low-frequency rumble. Voice control option for iOS devices.

Expensive. No track navigation buttons. Noise cancellation adds slight hiss. No ANC or EQ adjustments.

From an audio perspective, the Beats Solo Pro headphones handle bass well without going overboard. The noise cancellation can't quite compete with Bose's two heavy hitters, the $350 QuietComfort 35 II and the $400 Noise Cancelling Headphones 700,...

Beats Solo2 Wireless

The pricey Beats Solo2 Wireless headphones offer sculpted, but balanced, Bluetooth audio.

Powerful audio performance with rich bass and well-defined highs. Can be used in wired, passive mode. Comfortable design.

Price is a bit high. Not for purists seeking flat response.

Conclusions The Beats Solo2 Wireless offers a supremely comfortable fit and delivers audio that is very sculpted, but in a pleasing way, with a focus on clarity in the highs and not overdoing things in the lows. The headphones also sound solid when...

Beats Solo 2 Wireless review: Very good wireless on-ears, but the price hurts

Beats on-ear Bluetooth headphone has lot going for it, but there are better values out there, including the more expensive Studio Wireless.

The Beats Solo 2 Wireless is a well-built wireless headphone that sounds good in both wireless and wired modes and is relatively comfortable to wear for an on-ear headphone. Its battery life is decent and has a remote control built-in to the right...

Expensive; doesn't sound quite as good as the Bose SoundLink On-Ear Bluetooth, which costs $50 less.

Beats on-ear Bluetooth headphone has lot going for it, but it doesn't quite justify its lofty price tag.

Beats Solo 2

Fans of booming low-end won't be disappointed by the Beats Solo 2 headphones' powerful bass and distortion-free audio performance.

Powerful, distortion-free audio with boosted bass and bright highs. Lightweight, comfortable fit. Inline remote control and microphone for mobile devices

Big bass sound isn't for purists or anyone seeking flat response. Slightly overpriced

By now, headphone enthusiasts should know the drill with Beats: If you love big, booming bass, read on, and if you want a flat-response, critical listening-appropriate headphone pair, move on past the Beats Solo 2 (maybe to the Editors' Choice...

Beats Solo2 ( White)

The Solo 2 looks a lot like a mini version of Beats' revamped over-ear Studio (2013) headphone. For starters, the earpads have been redesigned with swankier materials that make the headphones slightly more comfortable and should hold up better over...

The Beats Solo 2 on-ear headphones are sturdier and better-sounding than the original Solos, with somewhat more balanced sound and strong, tight bass. They offer a relatively comfortable fit and have an inline remote and microphone for making cell...

Fairly pricey; some people may find they fit too snug.

These Solo 2 may not win audiophile hearts and ears, but for its intended audience -- namely, folks who are looking for a fast, exciting headphone with lots of high-quality bass -- this is an excellent on-ear headphone.

On-ear Beats Solo 2 steps up its design and sound

Beats' successor to its bestselling on-ear headphone is a distinct improvement over the original, both in design and sound quality.

Beats Solo Pro Review – Active noise cancellation with an Apple core

We're suddenly in a golden age for active noise cancelling headphones, and the Beats Solo Pro are aiming to oust the Bose from your bag with some Apple razzle-dazzle. The latest iteration of Beats' wildly successful headphones range, the Solo Pro were...

Clean, genre-agnostic music quality ; Active noise cancellation is solid ; Super-simple pairing with Apple devices ; Transparency mode is excellent

Other ANC headphones still have a noise-cancelling edge ; No 3.5mm cable in the box ; No customization of sound or ANC profiles

Beats Solo 2 / Solo2 Wireless HEADPHONES

The Beats Solo2 Wireless are sleek, lightweight, on-ear headphones that deliver an above-average sound. They're sturdy, comfortable and stable enough to use while jogging. They're a well-built wireless headset. However, they're a little leaky at high...

Above-average audio reproduction. ; Sturdy, wireless design. ; Comfortable and stable fit.

Poor isolation from ambient noise. ; A little leaky at high volumes.
