Bose AE2

The Bose AE2 brings comfortable fit to a headphone pair that skips noise cancellation in favor of audio performance.

Solid, distortion-free audio performance. Some unexpected sub-bass response. Very lightweight and comfortable. Folds flat for easy storage.

Sculpted frequency response not ideal for audiophiles. ¼-inch adapter is not included.

Bose AE2 review: Bose AE2

Bose AE2

Lightweight and comfortable design; sealed earcups isolate wearer from ambient noise; headphones fold flat; detachable cord; detailed sound with well-defined bass.

Sound can be a tad brash.

If you can't afford Bose's noise-canceling models, the Bose AE2s--and their improved design and sound quality--make for a good alternative at half the price.

Bose AE2

Meet the AE2, an entry-level option from Bose. Despite the brand recognition and reputation of Bose, these headphones fall flat in performance for their price range. With a poor frequency response and some distortion issues, they may not be a good fit...

Overall, the Bose AE2s aren’t a bad entry-level bet, but you can definitely do better no matter what you’re looking for in headphones. The cost is a little hard to swallow for the performance they give, but if you can find them for cheaper than MSRP,...

However, these Bose wireless headphones justify their high price tag with good sound quality, superior comfort and their unique dual-pairing feature. Their build quality is solid, and we saw virtually no complaints about product failures. Their funny...

Very good sound quality, Good wireless performance, Pair with two devices at once, Very comfortable

Weak volume level, Inelegant looks

Bose AE2 Headphones

Bose's AE2 headphones aren't loaded with tons of bells and whistles, but they do offer excellent sound quality — in fact, some of the very best in our test. Consumer testers raved about how comfy the pair was to wear and how it didn't slip out of...

Bose AE2

Bose headphones that are decent value? Who'd have thunk it.

Probably Bose's best-looking headphones yet ; Extremely comfortable ; Balanced, high-end style sound

Hollow-sounding mids ; Loose grip not great for runners

Although the Bose AE2 headphones don't offer Bose's signature noise cancellation technology, a much cheaper price point and more balanced sound signature mark them out as an excellent alternative to the QuietComfort 15s. These are very comfortable...

Bose AE2w

Immersive vocals, Open and detailed sound, Light and comfortable, Can connect to two devices simultaneously, Good at blocking external noise

Slightly hard in the treble, Bass isn’t as tight as we’d like, Distortion at higher volumes, Leak some sound

They trump their rivals in terms of comfort, and deliver a detailed, spacious sound. But the AE2ws struggle to stay poised in the higher and lower frequencies

Bose AE2 review

In the headphone realm, Bose is probably best known for its noise-canceling (NC) line of QuietComfort models. But it's long made some non-NC models, including an around-the-ear design as well as an on-ear design. Bose has shortened those names to AE...
