G.SKILL Ripjaws SV710 Virtual 7.1 Gaming Headset Review

With the real-7.1 model falling due to poor bass quality, can the amazing-looking virtual 7.1 Ripjaws SV710 model save G.Skill's headset range?

G.Skill Ripjaws SV710 7.1 surround sound gaming headset review

Fitting a surround sound speaker set up in your home is never easy, which is why headphone solutions are so popular. Not everyone has that space or spare cash so G.Skill is looking to tap into a new market with the Ripjaws SV710 7.1 surround sound...

Decent sound quality, overall.

Frame design needs improvement.

Not so good..

I do NOT recommend this headset, G.Skill clearly should not be making headphones and should just stick to making RAM. I would not buy this product again. If you plan on buying this headset for gaming, DON'T.

Virtual Surround Sound is nice. Built to last, very long cable.

Wearing this headset makes you look silly. Built for a huge head, adjustment is worthless. Microphone is complete garbage (a cheap $5 mic is better than this mic) (Just using team speak my friends have to turn up my volume to max DB to even hear me)...

Not worth your time

I bought this to replace my logitech g35 and was really disappointed with this headset, with in 2 hours of use i decided to package it back up and send it back, i ended up replacing it with a game come 780 and at the time was the same price and way...

Um none really well the sound is half decent maybe.

-Sound was pretty bad and had this really weird reverb to it. And yes I've downloaded the software. -Mic, is horrible, -Not adjustable at all.

One of the best

For the price, I would definitely look at picking these up, they're worth it, and I don't think you'll regret it. The way you can customize the sound guarantees a unique experience, and the comfort factor that these provide is exceptional. They ensure...

They're comfortable Mic is retractable Software is very nice and easy Switch on the cord controls pc volume, makes it easier to adjust volume VS. other headphones USB I cannot stress how comfortable these are! Seriously! No interference from being...

Great Headphones for the price

The volume control on the headphones is a bit big, but its nice to have the mic mute button and volume controls handy. I would recommend these headphones for the price.

The headphones are comfortable due to the fact that they go over the ears instead of resting on the ears. The sound quality is good, but make sure you download the G. skill software from their webpage so that you can enable the 7.1 surround sound...

Sound quality isn't great until you download the G. skill software. I wish the cord was braided, but that's not a big deal. Everything else is good.

Quality, good and bad

After reading through some of the other reviews here, there seems to be a huge quality disparity between what some users are seeing. Some reviews rant and rave about the absolute high quality of them, others (like me) are nonplussed, to say the least....

I have been using this headset on and off for about a month and a half – some for music, a little gaming, and then just a little bit of video chatting to verify functionality of the microphone. One of the most notable features of these headphones is...

Though I did not initially use the software (just plugged into Windows and got going), I didn’t find these to be particularly loud. Maybe I’m spoiled, but they just didn’t blow me away with their loudness or even their sound quality. I am by no means...

Absolutely KICK B U T T !!!

-Just because this is a review, please don't take my words lightly and think I just favor a product because it is sent to me. I have a job to do; and that's to be fair and honest about the product for future prospective buyers. I am just like you, a...

-The first thing I noticed was the weight of the box when I them, yet the headphones themselves are not too heavy that they take any toll on your head when it comes to weight. They also are weight-wise; not too heavy on the bottom, or the top to where...

-NOTHING !!! Not a darned thing !!! . .

Why pay more?

Trying to review something that is almost identical to something else you've reviewed without repeating yourself is more challenging than I thought it would be! If anyone is trying to make a choice between the two, I'd recommend getting both and trying...

I tried and reviewed the more expensive SR910 headphones and I must ask... Why pay more? These headphones sound just as good as they do! I really like these ones better because they are more simple! The inline box is a simple volume up and volume down...

Just like the last headphones, the presets could use some improvement. They will sound great with some tweaking. They are also still limited to your computer where many consumers would want them to also work on their gaming systems. While I'm not so...

Excellent Headset

I enjoy these very much. For me, a great fit and very comfortable. The sound can be adjusted to your liking. An excellent buy.

The new G.Skill SV710 Virtual headsets are a great leap forward in sound and control. They offer surround sound better than other headsets I own. With a USB 2 or 3 connection, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, super comfortable ear pads and a “desktop” in-line...

If your head is small these may not fit comfortably. As I said they are very large and could cause some fit issues.
