Master & Dynamic’s MH40 Wireless look and feel like $300, but don’t sound like it

Looks can be deceiving

Premium build materials help them stand out ; Comfortable to wear ; Can connect to multiple devices simultaneously

Sound quality isn’t on par with other $300 headphones ; System interface noises are annoying ; Battery performance falls short of claims, despite an auto power-off feature

Master & Dynamic MH40 Black

This closed-back, over-the-ear headphone is beautifully crafted from forged aluminum, stainless steel and real lambskin leather, and its sound is competitive with that of comparably priced models from established brands like AKG, Beyerdynamic, Bowers &...

The Master and Dynamic MH40 headphones are constructed out of premium materials and have excellent build quality along with excellent sound. The headphones come with a decent carrying case and two cables (one has an inline mic/remote for smartphone...

While they're comfortable, the headphones are heavy -- maybe too heavy for some people.

Not everybody will love the fit of Master and Dynamic's over-the-ear MH40 headphones, but they are very well-built and sound excellent.

Master & Dynamic MH40

Master & Dynamic's MH40 headphones are luxuriously crafted, sound terrific, and are well worth the high price.

Excellent audio performance. Handsome design with luxurious materials. Plenty of accessories, including a desktop stand

Expensive. Bulky

While Beats opened up the headphone market for lovers of massive bass response, companies like Bowers & Wilkins have carved out a niche in the headphone realm for users looking for luxury. Relative newcomer Master & Dynamic use fine leathers and a...

Master & Dynamic MH40 headphones review: Stellar sound...retro design

Master & Dynamic scored big points with us when they released the MW60's now let's see if the MH40 headphones impress us just as much.

Sound, sound, sound....the balanced sound is oh so nice. Build quality. High quality materials.

Price point may turn some off, hard shell case would have been nice.

In our opinion, the Master & Dynamic MH40’s are the best wired headphones in this price range. If you’re wanting wireless then step up to the Master & Dynamic MW60’s which are also best in class in their respective price point.

Master & Dynamic MH40 headphones review: Stellar sound…retro design

We're no strangers to Master & Dynamic around here, late last year we reviewed their amazing MW60 wireless headphones and came away impressed. Now we have the company's older pair of MH40 headphones in house for review and these are walking away with a...

If you can afford headphones in this price range and do not absolutely need Bluetooth, the MH40 headphones should be on your super short list.

Master & Dynamic MH40 Wireless Over-Ear Headphone review – The Gadgeteer

Master & Dynamic's MH40 wireless headphones are more comfortable, made just as well and sound as good as the original—but heavier—wired MH40s. Here's the kicker, even though they are not cheap, the wireless MH40s are $100 less expensive than what the...

Master & Dynamic MH40 headphones [review]

Master & Dynamic MH40

The MH40 are premium over-ear, open-back headphones with a striking retro design and sumptuous build quality.

Wide soundstage ; Thundering bass ; Beautifully built ; Mute button

Leak like a sieve ; Not the most detailed mid-range ; Heavy ; Bass might be too much for some

Fun headphones for home listening, with powerful bass and a wide soundstage, but they lack subtlety.
