However, due to its size, the L1 model isn't suited to mobile use, whereas the step-down M1 -- true to the "M" in its name -- is.

The Philips Fidelio M1s offer clear, natural sound and a very comfortable fit for on-ear headphones. They also fold flat, have an attractive design, and have an inline one-button remote/microphone for making cell phone calls. A protective carrying...

While they fall short of delivering truly excellent sound, the well-designed Philips Fidelio M1 on-ear headphones are comfortable to wear and well-suited for day-to-day use.

Best portable on-ears £100-£200, Awards 2012. Never tiring, always pleasant, maybe a little restrained

Smooth, even tonal balance ; weighty bass ; comfy to wear ; lovely design

Bass could be a little more detailed ; slightly restrained presentation

Philips Fidelio M1: Sound quality It’s a rounded, somewhat refined presentation. Vocals are given room to breathe, while high-frequency sounds are natural and don’t harden up when you crank the volume.
