Plantronics BackBeat GO 600 review

Despite a poor first impression, the BackBeat Go 600 offer balanced, distortion-free performance.

Long battery life & fast charging ; Lightweight and comfortable ; Balanced, enjoyable sound ; Full suite of onboard controls

Cheap, busy aesthetic ; Ineffective “bass boost” feature

Finding a decent set of over-ear cans at the $100 mark is tough, especially when it comes to wireless models. With that in mind, we’re more than willing to overlook some design flaws in recognition of the BackBeat Go 600’s impressive audio quality....

Plantronics BackBeat Go 600

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 600 headphones deliver strong wireless audio in a comfortable, easy-to-use design.

Powerful audio performance with crisp highs. Comfortable, secure fit. Easy-to-operate on-ear controls. Long battery life. Includes cable for passive listening.

Cable lacks inline remote or mic. Bass Boost mode employs DSP that impacts entire sound signature.

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 600 headphones deliver a solid audio experience in neutral mode, and a sculpted, bass-forward experience in Bass Boost mode. Bass lovers will be happy with the results, and those seeking an accurate mix will find the neutral...

Plantronics BackBeat Go 600 isn't fancy, but it's a good value

The company's new $100 over-ear Bluetooth headphones are full-sized yet comfortable, and sound pretty good.

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 600 are lightweight, comfortable over-ear Bluetooth headphones that sound decent and work well for making calls. You can toggle between more neutral or bass-boosted sound modes.

Bass lacks a little definition. The earcups can show scratches.

Don't expect a "wow" from the lightweight, comfortable Plantronics BackBeat 600, but they're as good or better than a lot of headphones in this price range.

Plantronics BackBeat Go 600 HEADPHONES

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 600 Series are average mixed usage wireless over-ears with a decent sound quality. They have a lightweight design that's a bit reminiscent of the Beoplay but doesn't feel as premium or as durable. On the upside, they're...

Above-average sound quality. ; Lightweight and decently comfortable. ; Good wireless range and battery life.

Flimsy build quality. ; Poor noise isolation. ; Bass delivery varies significantly across users. Sensitive to glasses.

Review: Plantronics BackBeat Go 600

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 600 Bluetooth headphones are for those who want good sound without paying for fancy extras. These over-the-ear cans cover the basic performance points at a price that won't break the bank.

Plantronics kept the BackBeat Go 600s simple and that's their strength. Over-the-ear headphones with active noise cancellation and voice assistant powers would easily set you back $200 or more. By eschewing these advanced functions and instead focusing...

Hands on: BackBeat GO 600 review

Capable wireless headphones for the price

Multipoint pairing ; Clear, quality sound

Uncomfortable for long sessions ; Limited wired functionality

With clear sound, Bluetooth functionality, and some niggling comfort issues, the BackBeat GO 600 Series offer what we'd expect from a sub-£100 pair of wireless headphones.
