Razer Megalodon Gaming Headset (Black) review

We recently took a look at two wired PC gaming headsets that rest in the midrange spectrum. While the P21 from Turtle Beach performed well as a PC headset, we wish it offered an option to expand to surround sound. The G330 from Logitech also performed...

Great sounding 7.1 surround sound headset; boom mic; comfortable; in-line control box; fully customizable surround sound and mic levels; Includes high-quality carrying case.

Won't work with Mac; USB only.

While it may not be ideal for the casual PC gamer, the Megalodon is an incredible sounding and comfortable PC gaming headset that lets you fully customize your sound.

Razer Megalodon 7.1 Gaming Headset Review

Razer Megalodon Headset Review takes a look at Razer's flagship headset with 7.1 virtual surround sound and a pretty neat volume control unit.

The Razer Megalodon is a good product, a little expensive, but that’s okay because of its outstanding performance, and the comfortable design. They have improved a good deal from their last models. The good things about the headset is that it comes...

Razer Megalodon 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset Review

The USB powered headset doesn't quite put "sound in its place".

In conclusion, the Razer Megalodon has the looks, style, build and comfort of a proper kick ass gaming headset but it is let down by its sub-par audio performance which is a complete deal breaker. For $149 there are superior alternatives available. You...

Razer Megalodon 7.1 Gaming Headset

Razer are one of the pioneers within the hardware industry – their products are used by gamers all over the world and if you visit any LAN event they will grace the table of many important clan gamers. We have looked at a number of their products over...

In terms of gaming headsets Razer’s Megalodon is right up there with the best. As a 2.0 headset it provides clear and accurate sound with plenty of power when required though that is not its strongest point. Switching to 7.1 mode for games which...

Razer Megalodon Headset - Bjorn3D.com

There are times in reviewing that you will always remember, this is one of those times. A freshly minted yet to be released P55 LGA 1156 Lynnfield motherboard beckons and there are few feelings that can compare to holding a newly minted Asus Deluxe...

Razer Megalodon

Deficient only in its ability to upmix stereo content, the headset is the clear winner in the personal surround sound arms race. Its attention to comfort, sound quality, game compatibility and tournament readiness leave little else to be desired.

Incredibly lightweight, Comfortable, Positional audio works great in newer Windows, Individual controls over all 8 channels, Driver-free installation for eSports tournaments and cross-platform compatibility, Hard shell case included for traveling

Expensive, Poor 50% compatibility for Windows XP, Mic has background hiss even at lowest sensitivity, Audio in 7.1 mode sounds a bit hollow, Unable to upmix stereo content to 7.1 or decode Dolby Pro Logic II audio, Blocks system controls in Mac and XP

Razer Megalodon USB Headset

The Megalodon is yet another good product from Razer, but it is only barely worth the Recommended Award in my opinion. Yes the USB Sound card is nifty but it comes at almost the same cost as an X-Fi XtremeMusic sound which is miles ahead in terms of...

Comfort, USB Sound card, Feature rich, Driver less, Market leading sound quality for a USB headset, Brilliant microphone, Well built, Virtual 7.1 surround sound

Virtual 7.1 surround sound, Expensive, Shows fingerprints and dirt fast

Razer Megalodon review

Despite being named after a prehistoric shark, Razer's premium headset is sadly lacking bite

Decent sound quality in 2.0 mode ; Good jog dial ; Noise cancelling mic

7.1 surround sound makes sound worse ; A bit tacky feeling
