Razer Opus Review

Balanced sound signature with plenty of high-frequency clarity ; Solid noise cancellation for lower frequencies ; Comfortable design

Relatively weak bass ; Noise cancellation does little for higher frequencies

As long as you don't expect big bass, the Razer Opus headphones offer active noise cancellations and crisp, clear sound at a reasonable price.

Razer Opus review: surprisingly competent wireless headphones

Razer's foray into noise-canceling headphones is a hit

Good sound quality ; Automatically pauses when you take them off ; Comfortable ; USB-C charging

Can’t support simultaneous Bluetooth connections ; ANC lets in a little too much noise

Razer’s new Opus over-ear, wireless headphones do a lot to justify their $200 price tag. They have noise cancellation, USB-C charging, satisfactory battery life, and a comfortable fit, though they don’t punch far above their price.

Razer Opus wireless headphones review

The Razer Opus wireless headphones are a pair of inexpensive cans with long battery life

Good ambient noise cancelling ; Useful auto-pause feature ; Long battery life ; Great value

Bass could be stronger ; Mobile-only EQ software has limited functionality ; Auto-play feature doesn’t work well

The Razer Opus wireless headphones, the company’s first stab at general-use headphones, deliver good sound at a great price.

Razer Opus Wireless 2021 Review

The Razer Opus Wireless 2021 are the stealth version of the Razer Opus Wireless 2020. Without any announcements, Razer quietly replaced their 2020 model with thi...

Comfortable and well-built design. Long-lasting continuous battery life. ANC blocks out ambient chatter. EQ presets available.

Mic has mediocre noise handling. Closed off passive soundstage. No multi-device pairing. ANC struggles to cut down bass-range noise like bus engine rumbles.

The Razer Opus Wireless 2021 are good for neutral sound. Using their 'Amplified' EQ, which results in the flattest frequency response, they have a warm sound profile that delivers extra boom and warmth. That said, while vocals and lead instruments also...

Razer Opus Wireless 2020 Review

The Razer Opus Wireless 2020 are very good over-ear ANC headphones that offer an excellent price-to-performance ratio. Unlike most of Razer's products that are d...

Integrated microphone can be used wired. Excellent price-to-performance ratio. Fully compatible with both PS4 and Xbox One. Dedicated companion app gives access to EQ presets. Easy-to-use physical buttons. Outstanding ANC. Comfortable and well-built...

Slightly uneven treble range may be piercing to some listeners. Over-ear design may cause you to sweat more than usual. Mediocre microphone performance. No multi-device pairing. Can't be used while charging.

The Razer Opus are great headphones for neutral sound listening. They have a very well-balanced and accurate sound profile out-of-the-box that's versatile enough for all genres or content. You can also customize the way they sound via EQ presets within...

Razer Opus review: Solid midrange ANC headphones

Razer is stepping out of the realm of gaming to release the Opus, a pair of ANC headphones with a good sound and a reasonable price tag, but limited features.

Bright, punchy sound ; Comfortable and basic design ; Easy to use controls

Subpar ANC performance ; Very limited feature set ; Signal noise is present

For the price point the Razer Opus is above average when it comes to audio quality and comfort, but is below average in terms of active noise cancelling and overall features. Aiming for $200 price is a great move from Razer for a first attempt into the...

Razer Opus Headphones Review

Razer has been known for its audio products for more than a decade but those were mostly gaming headsets. However, this year they've launched their first wireless Bluetooth headphones with the Razer Opus. Design & Hardware Unlike the company's gaming...

Foldable design ; Very comfortable ear cushions ; Comes with a nice carrying case ; Sounds good and Active Noise Cancellation works well ; Great battery life (up to 25 hrs)

Opus app doesn’t give much customization options other than EQ presets (no custom EQ option) ; The hybrid mode requires holding down the button to use ; The buttons on the headphones are small

Overall, the Razer Opus is a great pair of ANC headphones that is a cheaper alternative to the higher-end ANC headphones by Sony and Bose.

Razer’s First Try at a Set of “Lifestyle” Headphones Is Pretty Sharp

The Opus is Razer's first foray into “lifestyle” headphones. With a surprisingly understated design, these are made to wear anywhere and anytime. They have ANC, are THX-certified, and cost $199. Overall, they're solid—but if sound quality is your...

Razer Opus review

Not a gaming headset, the Razer Opus sees the gamer lifestyle brand branch out into personal audio.

Snazzy design Great noise cancellation Tight fit

No manual sound tuning Don't get very loud

The Razer Opus is Razer's first foray into a non-gaming, noise-cancelling headset, and it pays off better than we could have expected. Design, sound quality and battery life are all there. Our only real complaint is the small size of the ear cups – and...
