Sennheiser HD449 Review

Sennheiser enjoys a good reputation in the headphone market and their HD800 and HD650 headphones ...

There is no shortage of headphones in the market today and it’s hard to find a good performing one at an affordable price. The HD449 are actually a very decent set of headphones. Sure, they aren’t built with the best quality and most exotic materials,...

Sennheiser HD 449

Sennheiser is known for delivering exceptional audio quality across the price points, from superb high-end to surprisingly quality low-end. While many sound companies seek to value-add to music by ramping up the bass or tailoring the designs to certain...

Very clear sound from bass to treble with little to no distorting; Extension cable and quarter inch adapter for Hi-Fi; Light, comfortable build

Volume and depth can be lacking; Bass might not cut it for certain music genres

Great Buy

For the money great buy compaired to headphones 3 to 4 times as much. Fit very well, light and do not feel like they are clamped on. When used with an amp really nocks them up a level

No replacable ear pads, seem a little flimsy

Sennheiser HD 449

The sound quality is great. The included extension cord, the extra bag, all of this is nice

Was looking for something that held sound-in well for music at work, these didn't work for that.. I'm sure there are others out there, I just chose the wrong model

Sennheiser HD 449 3.5mm/ 6.3mm Connector Around-Ear Headphone

I can't complain about the sound, but I can complain about the quality. I've been a LONG time customer of Sennheiser for two reasons. Consistent audio quality and consistent overall quality and aesthetics. While the headphones have the classic sleek,...

Overall the audio is good. The bass is adequate

I agree with "jh". The headphones do give off a cheap feeling. They are slightly flimsy and I feel like they're going to snap every time I take them off ; The actual ear muffs are indeed a bit small, as I have to literally fold my ears to cover them...

Flawless?

Expensive? Not really. Ive seen Dr. Dre beats a lot recently and these are easily in the same league as those overpriced earmuffs.

Wow...Matched against HD238 and HD419 these headphones lap the competition. Shocking treble, crystal clear. Round bottomless bass at any volume. The leatherette cups work twice as well at keeping sound in and out (compared to fabric HD419). Effortless...

It might be that these headphones would be SLIGHTLY less than adequate for the very dedicated dubstep or dance crowd. Not certain

Not great with all genres but good anyhow

I purchased these as my first "Audiophile headphones" a couple of years ago, and have since purchased better pairs. The good news is that they still work perfectly. They are lightweight, comfortable and not as flimsy as they feel, however for people...

Good soundstage, smooth mids, comfy, lightweight and portable, nice with "gentle" music

A bit bass light, could be more sensitive to signals.

So far very pleased for the price I paid.

I have only bought these headphones today, so haven't used them properly to rate yet. I had been thinking of buying my first pair of quality headphones for around two weeks now. I had narrowed it down to either Bose, Audio-Technica or Sennheiser. Was...

Excellent

It is hard to find a pair of isolating headphones that won't rob the bank leaving a bitter after taste, a feeling of being conned, misled or otherwise suckered into filling another segment of that rapidly filling cupboard you so do not want the wife to...

Light weight, comfortable, detailed, balanced, wide frequency response

Some may think the bass is lacking but, they are remenicent of my old electrostatics

Consumer review (head-fi.org)

Was nice back then.

This is just an re-post of one of my first head-fi reviews from 2012, I hope Sennheiser is working on a newer version of these HD4X8 series headphones. Caution:- This article has serious grammatical mistakes, do forgive them. This is the newest edition...

Nice sound, good looks.

Weak build.
