Sennheiser PXC 250-II

For $260, Sennheiser's PXC 250-II is a good pair of noise-canceling headphones, but if you can afford them, more expensive pairs like Bose's QuietComfort 3, deliver much better performance.

Effective noise cancellation. Can be used in passive, non-noise canceling mode. Solid audio performance at moderate volume levels.

Distorts at higher volume levels on bass-heavy tracks. Large noise cancellation/battery compartment on cable. Runs on a standard (not rechargeable) AA battery.

Sennheiser PXC 250 II HEADPHONES

The Sennheiser PXC 250 II are compact, lightweight on-ear headphones that have great audio reproduction and don't leak much sound. Unfortunately, they feel very flimsy and the small, poorly padded ear cups are uncomfortable and let a lot of ambient...

Great audio reproduction. ; Minimal leakage. ; Compact, lightweight design.

Poor isolation. ; Flimsy build. ; Uncomfortable.

Sennheiser PXC 250-II

Fold up a bit better than their predecessors, but otherwise remain the same

Great frequency response, low distortion; Lightweight, comfortable design

Isolate poorly, active cancellation or not; In-line controls seem poorly designed

PXC 250-IIThe PXC 250-IIs are a great set of portable headphones. They’re comfortable, not much heavier than a pair of sunglasses, and offer excellent audio quality for $150. Their main downside is their design isn’t always conducive to portability....

Sennheiser PXC 250-II Travel Headphones

Are these headphones as good as the claims or is Sennheiser relying on reputation?

Do you prefer on-ear headphones or in-ear buds? Sennheiser, the German uber-brand, is well-known for its pro and consumer audio products, as well as for its breathtaking (and expensive) Neumann microphones. Now, the company has updated its...

Sennheiser PXC 250-II review

The noise-cancelling Sennheiser PXC 250-II are dainty which makes them great for the commute

Highly portable ; compact design ; good detail

Unequal dynamics ; noise-cancelling average

Sleek, compact and portable, but uneven dynamics take away the fun

Sennheiser PXC 250-II review

It's an irony that the most expensive phones in the entire round-up are also the smallest in form factor. With lightly padded speakers around 2.5cm in diameter and a headband under a centimetre wide, Sennheiser's PXC 250-IIs are fully portable travel...

If portability were our main concern, these would be the phones we’d choose. They’re very lightweight and unobtrusive, with delightful styling. And the sound they generate is terrific, too: that’s in no small part thanks to the active noise-cancelling...

Sennheiser PXC 250-II review

The PXC 250-II is an update to an old Expert Reviews favourite. As with the original PXC 250, the PXC 250-II are a lightweight pair of folding on-ear headphones, supplied with a soft pouch and aeroplane adaptor and backed by a two-year warranty. The...

Excellent sound quality, highly effective noise cancelling and a light, comfortable design easily justify the high price.

Freezes - Must be hard reset often.

I think the system is probably a good base, and as I got mine brand new from an estate sale, I can't complain for the price I paid. I'm looking for new ones because after 2 years of use, the foam on the ear pieces is starting to separate from the...

They are well made, and very compact, they fold up and go in a case that's maybe 4x6x1 inches. They are lightweight, and comfortable, battery life is decent. Sound reproduction is pretty good, but it I'm not sure if they are the most powerful drivers...

Noise cancelling... um... sorta... if you have them on your head, and you don't have them turned on, it's actually louder than if you had nothing on at all. I'm not sure how they accomplished that feat, but it's true. While they are pretty good and...

Sennheiser - Noise Cancelling Headphones (PXC 250-II)

I commute to and from work on the train every day. The noise canceling ability of these headphones is great. I can just barely hear the hum of the train if I focus on it, and have a hard time hearing the conductor screaming out stops (good thing I live...

They do exactly what the description says they will. Audio quality is great. Mids are pronounced and bass is amazing for headphones. As far as comfort goes, I forget I'm even wearing them as soon as I put them on

The cord has a controller in the middle for the noise canceling and volume controls. It's a little big, but has a clip on the back so it's not too bad

Excellent travel headphones

I've never owned a pair of headphones this nice before - and I've mainly used some overpriced sound equipment (for review purposes they shall remain anonymous but most people will know what I'm referring to) that doesn't perform nearly as well as these...

Small profile and carrying case means it can slip into any computer bag / briefcase / purse / whatever. The metal headband is great - I generally put my headphones through their paces which means that I've lost/destroyed several pairs over the years....

The airplane test was the only one where it didn't pass muster. I used these on a long flight from Baltimore to Los Angeles and while it was hard to hear the movie I was playing on my laptop (The Big Lebowski) - I could hear most of the movie's music...
