Sony XBA-4 review

Sony claims that its new $349.99 XBA-4's sound is "optimized for audiophiles," and my anecdotal testing confirms that this is truly a great-sounding set of headphones. It features Sony's newly designed "microsized balanced armature drivers," and in...

Sony's XBA-4 in-ear headphones are the company's first to use four balanced armature drivers in each earpiece for ambient noise isolation, and they sound great.

Its high performance comes at an equally lofty price.

Sony's audiophile-grade XBA-4 in-ear headphones deliver highly refined sound, with potent bass, airy treble, and excellent noise-isolating performance.

Sony XBA-4iP

The best Sony headphones we've heard in years

Unique design produces superb audio ; crisp and taut but terrifically weighty delivery

Can sound brash with poor recordings

Sony XBA-4iP: Sound quality So, in each earphone you have a tweeter, full-range driver and two woofers, and while that results in a rather chunky design, these are surprisingly comfortable and secure in the ears. On top of that, they sound absolutely...

Sony XBA-4IP in-ear headphone review

Sony knows a thing or two about producing decent audio products and they've utilised this heritage to create one of the finest in-ear headphones ever produced.

If there is a better in-ear headphone on the market than the Sony XBA-4IP then we haven’t heard them.

"Truly amazed by the sound quality"

I would consider myself as a big time audiophile. I also travel a lot and big headphones are not convenient or suitable for me. I have been looking a long time for the best in-ear headphones but I don't want to pay 500$. I have owned multiple Sony,...

Absolute clarity and great sound spectrum. They are very comfortable and convenient to travel with. By far the best earphones I have purchased.

The only real con is that I have built my mp3 collection on 192kpbs (a long time ago!) and it's now way too low quality. I hear all the flaws in the sound. Other than that, they might be a bit expensive. I had a great deal at 150$ at Sony Store.
