UE MetroFi 220 review: UE MetroFi 220

Ultimate Ears has been a familiar name to musicians and other audio professionals for a decade, but the company has gained quite a following with its consumer line as well. Earphones in its various lines range in affordability and scale nicely, from...

The reasonably priced Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 earphones offer good sound quality and excellent bass (if you can get a good fit). A protective carrying case is included. One version includes an in-line mic and call answer button for use with music...

The MetroFi 220 earphones won't be comfortable for all users; the earpieces have a bit of a cheap, plastic feel; and the cable is thin and tangle-prone.

The Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 earphones are a good middle-of-the-road option thanks to their thumpy bass and solid overall sound quality, but be wary of fit and comfort issues.

Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220

An extra $30 buys you more bass with Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220, but the MetroFi 170 is a better buy.

Strong bass response and overall sonic performance. Superb fit. Reasonably priced.

Pronounced cable thump means it's not the best choice for exercise use—and there's no shirt clip included.

Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220vi Review

Have you ever dated someone who possessed all your usual desirables and who seemed to genuinely like you, but the relationship ultimately failed to generate sparks? Ultimate Ears' MetroFi 220vi are the earbud equivalent of that dating experience. ...

The MetroFi’s deliver good range and separation in an attractive, well-built package, and they have an in-line mic with a push-to-talk button that’s compatible with both iPhone and Blackberry models. But if you're searching for a quasi-religious...

Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 Earphones

Never heard of Ultimate Ears? You are not alone. Prior to being acquired by computer peripherals giant Logitech in early 2008, Ultimate Ears (UE) was primarily known in the audiophile and audio professional communities as a manufacturer of upmarket and...

Stylish looks, easy to use, fun sound signature, reasonable isolation

So-so bundle of accessories, not a bargain at $79 MSRP, less-than-ideal fit

With their distinctive styling, ease of use, and coherent sound signature, the Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 in-ear earphones deserve a second look from anyone shopping for earphones in the $50-$100 range. Although they do not excel at everything, they...

Repeat Buyer - Excellent Entry-Level Earphones

First, understand that I do not believe in spending $200 on head/earphones or even $100 for that matter since I usually misplace my earphones or damage them (e.g. put through the washing machine) within a 1-2 year period. I have gone through too ...

Great sound and low price

I bought these when they were on special offer on Play almost a year ago now. I use them every day on my commute, and they get tangled up and tossed in my bag every day, and they show no signs of wear at all.

Good sound, Bad fit

After reading reviews these sounded like the perfect headphones for me, good quality good mid level price. After opening them they're well presented and sound great, but... after a lot of trying they will not stay in with any bud type with any...

Major Let Down For Next Gen Phone Users

I will start by saying that these earphones are FANTASTIC so sound and comfort. Walking home from work hearing NO OTHER sound apart from my music is such bliss then hearing a police siren or people talking to loud in-between songs.

Good sound spoiled by poor fit!

It's such a shame I can only give this 2 stars. Overall the sound is pretty good. At long last I have a set of headphones through which I can hear the full track including the bass (if a little distorted at times). That is, so long as I keep my fingers...

Good earphones

Bought these and am very pleased with the audio quality and Iphone compatility. Used to carry around a headset for calls and earphones for music and now have 1 product that does both. Have used many earphones in past with various results, these come...
