short range

So maybe the range issue is partially my fault. I have a wireless router and a wireless mouse/keyboard combo and a Turtle Beach headset all operating right next to the PC this thing was plugged in to, but none of those other devices are having any...

Overall its a nice product. Good layout and good functionality. I especially like that 5 is the windows key when numlock is off. double functionality as a calculator is nice too. Feels very sturdy

Mouse it 90% worthless. Unless you suffer from little hand syndrome, it will be incredibly awkward to use. Also, both devices have very short range (about 4 feet). Good for desktop use, but useless as a HTPC remote replacement. Also, the dongle is...

GEAR HEAD KPCM4200W Black USB RF Wireless Slim Keypad and Optical Mouse - Retail

Nice features of two wireless items on one dongle and the independent calculator function.

The mouse worked.

It didn't work. Bought it to go with my Eee PC 1000 Linux OS notebook. The Linux OS and Staroffice spreadsheet wouldn't recognize the 10 key.

Works well

The switch on the bottom of the keypad and mouse is nice but would have prefered the postion to be on the side. Good product for any laptop/notebook computer.

It's great to have both the mouse and the nurmerical keypad together. One connection that's all. The send button is actually a good thing. If you just need to use it as a keypad just make sure it is in keypad mode, you don't have to hit send at all....

The only thing I can really say that I didn't like was the dongle is a bit big. It's hard to fit anything in the USB ports next to it. They could have made it smaller or aleast narrower

Review Updated

I had submitted a review previously indicating that you needed tht SEND before numbers to added to Excel or other applications. Not sure what happened to that review but it was user eror :o

I like the fact that it doubles as a calculator.

I woud have liked a little more tacticle feedback on the keys. Minor quibble.

Think about your need first....

The size and have a screen for calcular function is nice. However, I bought this to use has a wireless number pad and frankly, the useability is terrible given that you have to hit SEND to make your entry to ty our application. For Excel work, this...

It's wireless and it pretty much works out of the box. I like the fact that this doubles as a standalone calculator

In order to use the numberpad for say EXCEL or any application, you key in the number and then hit SEND on the pad. This is rather annoying. I purchased this as a number pad and to have to key the number and then hit SEND is efficient. Also, after you...

Great device!!!

New egg has not missed a delivery yet, and I have never had any troubles with their system.

This Numpad goes beyond the low price tag and continues to WOW with the ability to adjust audio settings on your pc/laptop, and to skip ahead to the next scene or fast forward on a video. Not too many Numpads with those capabilities ; On top of all...

I bought two of these on two separate orders from Buy.Com, about a month apart. Both of them were missing the USB transmitter in the sealed plastic packages. Their phone line was always on LONG delay, but searched the net and found an e-mail address...

The mouse is very compact and manageable. The keypad is awesome! It makes using a laptop so much easier, especially for an accountant!

I ordered this from a few weeks ago. It was the best priced set I had seen and I looked everywhere. I even got the $10 coupon from Google checkout, so I could not beat the price. The Keypad/Calculator function is very very useful and it all...
