Lenovo Yoga 3 14 review: This hybrid puts performance, price before high-end design

The Lenovo Yoga 3 14 has all the flexibility of past Yoga hybrid laptops, going from clamshell to tablet and back again. The configuration options are very good for its sub-$1,000 price; it gets more than 8 hours of battery life; and has excellent...

The display doesn't get very bright, which could be a problem for outdoor use. Its battery life, while excellent, is shorter than similarly configured models from Dell and HP.

With better battery life and performance than the Yoga 3 Pro (not to mention a lower price), the Yoga 3 14 is one of the best hybrid deals around.

Lenovo Yoga 3 14 (MultiTouch, 2.40GHz 1600MHz 4MB)

Like past models, the Yoga 3 14 looks like a standard thin-and-light clamshell, but its two hinges allow you to rotate the screen 360 degrees back, turning it into a tablet . What's new for the line is the 14-inch screen size, which is all the more...

Lenovo Yoga 3 14

The Yoga 3 14 is a large-screen convertible-hybrid laptop with Lenovo's vaunted 360-degree hinge. It's a good system in a category with fierce competition.

Innovative hinge mechanism. Full HD display with 10-point touch. Nine hours of battery life in testing.

Feels huge in Tablet mode. Shallow keys on keyboard. Aggressive dimming by the adaptive brightness function. Proprietary micro HDMI port requires dongle. Bloatware.

The Lenovo Yoga 3 14 shows improvements over the 13-inch Lenovo Yoga 2 13, like a larger screen, while retaining a thin profile and its 360-degree Yoga hinge. It's a well-equipped laptop whose convertible form factor offers greater flexibility in terms...

Lenovo Yoga 3 14

Flexible multimode design; Rich JBL stereo speakers; Strong battery life ; Dim screen; Runs warm on bottom ; The Yoga 3 14 is a solid 2-in-1 with a flexible design, long battery life and quality speakers, but the display doesn't shine.

Lenovo Yoga 3 14 (GT 940M) Convertible Review

Gaming acrobat. Despite the thin chassis and the versatile 360-degree hinge, the Lenovo Yoga 3 14 is also available with a dedicated GeForce 940M GPU. The following review shows how the device compares with the previously reviewed IGP version and why...

can handle games, versatile chassis construction, high-contrast display, fast SSD, practical battery runtimes, good WLAN signal, basically usable input devices, but

touchscreen issues during the review, software bugs, continuous whining in operation, limited usability outdoors, significant CPU throttling during the stress test, slight GPU throttling during the stress test, micro-HDMI port, torsion resistance could...

The concept of the review unit is promising: There is a perfect operating mode for every scenario thanks to the compact dimensions and the 360-degree display hinge. The mainstream GeForce GPU also provides a decent gaming performance. The display...

Review: Lenovo Yoga 3 14 convertible laptop

Lenovo has another Yoga notebook very similar to the ThinkPad Yoga 14 we recently reviewed, and it's called the Lenovo Yoga 3 14. The increasingly convoluted names aside, the Yoga 3 14 is a bigger version of the Yoga 3 11-inch model, bringing with it...

If you’re familiar with Lenovo’s laptops, particularly with its new Yoga machines, then you’ll find the Yoga 3 14 feels like something you’ve seen before, but with its own little tweaks that make it unique. In this case, it’s the brushed metal surface...

Lenovo Yoga 3 14 Convertible Review

1, 2, Yoga 3. Lenovo squeezes a 14-inch screen into a chassis that's roughly the same size as last year's Yoga 2 13 and upgrades the hardware at the same time as well. The new Yoga 3 14 inherits most of the predecessor's familiar traits and while it...

14-inch display in a 13-inch body, Very decent performance, Very fast SSD, Long battery life, Multi-mode versatility

Display is not very bright, Usability outdoors isn't great, Some throttling under full load, No full-sized HDMI port, Torsional rigidity could be better, Ripples on the display when pressure is applied

Updated hardware, larger screen, better battery life - what's not to like? The Yoga 3 14 improves upon the predecessor Yoga 2 13 in quite a few areas. Despite the larger 14-inch screen and the smaller battery, the new model is capable of better...

Lenovo Yoga 3 14 Review and Ratings

The Lenovo Yoga 3 14 sports an attractive design, a handsome 1080p screen, good speakers, and nine hours of battery life. We just wish its keyboard was better.

Attractive, flexible design ; Bright and crisp display ; Rich sound ; Long battery life

Heavy in tablet mode ; Short power cord ; Mushy keyboard

After fully recharging the laptop, we set up the machine in power-save mode (as opposed to balanced or high-performance mode) and make a few other battery-conserving tweaks in preparation for our unplugged video rundown test. In this test, we loop a...

Lenovo Yoga 3 14 Review

Since the moment I saw Windows 8 I've been a proponent of the 2-in-1 PC. To me, buying anything that can replace two things seems logical. Instead of spending less money on two different devices, 2-in-1 buyers can pool their resources and get something...

I liked the Lenovo Yoga 3 14, which isn’t as big of an endorsement as loving it, but still decent. If you’re dead-set on the notebook 2-in-1 form factor it’s some decent hardware at a somewhat decent price. I wanted to love the Yoga 3 14, but I simply...

Lenovo Yoga 3 14 review

An elegant and affordable, but weak laptop

Sleek design ; Long battery life ; Flexibility

Poor performance ; Heavy weight

If you're a fan of Lenovo's Yoga 3 Pro, and you don't mind sacrificing portability for a bit more power, then the Yoga 3 14 is a safe bet. But if you're going for optimum performance, you might want to consider other more powerful hybrids.
