Acer Aspire One Happy review: A dual-booting Android and Windows 7 netbook with awesome battery life

Excellent battery life, good keyboard, slim and light, dual-core Atom CPU offers much improved performance compared to other netbooks

Android implementation is not useful, touchpad buttons share same strip of plastic, gets noticeably warm when used on lap, comes with annoying McAfee and Norton software preinstalled

Acer Aspire One Happy

For AU$499, the Acer Aspire One Happy is likely to make someone happy. Increasingly, though, we're seeing netbooks as too limited — we'd be much more tempted to splash out on a thin-and-light like the MacBook Air or a full-fledged budget laptop instead.

Cute little package ; Multi-touch scrolling

Same old netbook with artificial limitations ; Hard to read, blurry text ; Android port isn't that useful and poorly thought out

A “Happy” Experience : Acer Aspire One Happy

Those kind people at Laptops Direct were responsible for supplying this next product from the Acer stable of netbook/notebook catalogue.

Some care does need to be taken as the back button used by Android is the Esc key which is in close proximity to the Aspire One Happy’s on/off switch. I lost count of the times I inadvertently switch off the netbook because of this problem. The Windows...

Very cute!

I bought mine because a need for a laptop is very long overdue and I needed one which I could carry around with me very easily. I have a pink one and it never leaves my sight! I use it regularly for general internet access, music and pictures. However...

Lightweight, easy to use, love the range of colours and the design is excellent

Not recommended for gaming, I can't change the desktop picture, it only comes with windows 7 starter so Microsoft Word Starter is very basic. It also doesn't have a disc drive which doesn't really phase me anyway.
