Acer Aspire E5-521 Notebook Review

Quiet long-lasting runner. The Aspire E5-521 can boast with a low operating noise and very long battery life. The laptop also has plenty of storage capacity. Its only real shortcoming is the dark, low-contrast screen.

Matte screen, Quiet operating noise, Low temperature development, Plenty of storage, Very good battery life

Dark, low-contrast screen

Buyers looking for an affordable 15.6-inch office laptop will not make a big mistake with the Aspire E5-521-60Y6. The laptop provides enough computing power for routine. At the same time, it barely heats up and is always quiet, and it also sports...

Don't waist your time buying this laptop

I cant seem to find any cons to this laptop

The touch seems pretty unresponsive. The laptop is also really slow to load any program or website.

Works well **AS IS!**

Long story short: if win8 does not bother you, poor you, this is worth the money. However, be prepared to purchase a mouse, if you don't already own a spare, in case you have the same touchpad issue as I do. Lack of win7 support, being a user issue and...

Turns on fast, good graphics, good everything you'd want for a college student or for light business, gaming, or general usage. Cannot speculate on hardcore gaming capabilities; I acquired it for programming and general use when away from my desktop,...

Comes pre-loaded with win8, microsoft bloatware, as well as AMD/Acer bloatware. Cannot format multiple partitions that aren't being used for squat other than recovery, which isn't exactly a TERRIBLE thing, I suppose. Keyboard runs very close to the...

Good choice

Not having the optical drive will probably become a PITA at some point...but for the cash saved by buying this unit and it's impressive performance, it's worth giving it up. You can always install one later, or just buy a USB unit to keep around for...

Aside from the lack of an optical drive, the specs on this super-cheap system are pretty astounding. Quad-core machine for less than what most dual-core machines cost. Unless you're a hardcore gamer or a content creator (think video and photo editing...

This thing comes pre-loaded with a mind-blowing amount of bloatware...be ready spend half an hour just uninstalling the (stuff that comes out the south end of a north-facing bull) ; Note that apparently it's against Newegg policy to post "Bee Ess" as...

Great Laptop

This laptop does exactly what I wanted it to. Runs the internet fast, streams netflix, youtube and crunchyroll with no problems whatsoever. AND I can play most of my steam account games on it without having to change the settings config. Exactly what I...

Decent for Price

I needed a new computer for college fast and this does a good job. I was able to play MMos and Sims on this on medium setting(havent tried high settings or LOL yet)

The only issues I had was that the trackpad is to touch so if you press your hand across it can mess up your typing and the space bar is not responsive enough. When you are typing fast it might not register the space bar tap. This could be from my...

Acer E5-521-219J

I bought this machine for my dad, and it works perfectly for him as a web browser/emailer even with his bad eyes, and for me as an occasional HTPC. I determined the graphics would be sufficient only for the most casual of games, even though it beat the...

Fairly thin, fairly light ; Big, bright screen. Low-resolution, important for those whose eyes aren't what they used to be. Scaling to make things bigger in Windows is still a wonky, unpredictable thing. Everything is perfectly legible at default sizes...

Mouse is terrible. It will sometimes randomly lose the ability to scroll, and other times just won't work at all for a few moments ; Bloatware took some time to install ; The computer has a plastic blank in place of the ODD. Not a big thing, but it...
