Review: The Acer One A150AB

With the likes of Facebook and MSN taking over the internet it was only a matter of time until laptop developers started making machines made to do just that, internet surfing. Add that with the huge array of mobile internet connections available for...

Acer Aspire One Review

The Acer Aspire One comes in many flavours and the Linux version is easily the cheapest of all the Netbooks. At Rs 20,999, the one we reviewied - the 9-inch one with a 3-cell battery and a 120 GB hard drive makes excellent sense. Overall, this is an...

Great Little Computer

Sure the screen is small but you can't have a larger screen and a small computer.... at least not yet anyway.

Really impressive little guy. For it's size and what it costs it is hard to believe the power it has. Runs fast lots of disk space. All my favorite apps run without a hitch. Picks up wifi easily... even weak signals. The SD etc. card reader is nice...

None.

Acer should have better technical support.

It works really well for what I paid and does exactly what I expected it to do.

The battery went out and I only bought it back in November. I don't know if it is a flaw with the 6cells or what.

Great

Half Life is playable at default settings. Works great for music, i was thinking of putting my music on this and getting an external creative X-fi USB and running it optical into my receiver. Then running the vga up to the TV and getting a wireless...

Works very well for the spec's the pc has. I have even hooked this up to my Samsung 226bw (1680 x 1050) and its great for a low power pc. You'll get used to the keyboard in a week or so. Awesome for traveling and running around. My girlfriend keeps it...

The only real con i'd have to say is where the buttons are for the touchpad (on the side). However the touchpad works great and i'd just use that then the buttons to double click. I just used a wireless mouse now.

This Thing Is Fast!!!

I've seen this computer run Windows 7 and I'm almost considering doing it to mine but there are a lot of custom drivers that had to be created by other users to make it work properly which is why I am hesitating but maybe one day when official drivers...

The 1.60Ghz Processor in this thing makes this little laptop surprisingly quick. Which actually made me start thinking about overclocking maybe I can make this thing a mini-monster after all which wasn't my original intention. I have installed Office...

The first day I ran it I came across a small problem...the computer has power saving features pre-installed and enabled, which is fine but when these features take affect (if you leave it alone for a while) then come back to it, the screen would not...

AOA150-1570 Nice Product

I purchased an external DVD write from LG model GP08LU10 that has two USB interfaces. 1 is for power and the other is for data. What is nice is that the Aspire has 3 USBs so it can support this DVD writer. I loaded XP pro on the Aspire an it works great!

Good Graphics, Lightweight, plenty of interfaces including a memory slot and the keyboard surprisingly is easy to use even with my fat fingers. Its performance is snappy and with 160gb hd, I have a log of storage. I like the camera for skyping as well....

The buttons on the touchpad sometimes require two hands to use. (fat fingers again)

Info.

As for an earlier posting. I am using a Rosewell Model ROD-EX001 external burner. It is well built, runs off one cable, free shipping. I have not had any problems so far. I am at this time waiting for PWR supply to arrive. Not that it is needed, just a...

Great portability and battery life!

Overall this is a really great device. At this point I'm convinced other netbooks are generally great devices too (though I might find more gripes with them than I did with this one). I am unsure what amount of the appreciation I have for this device...

The battery life from the 6-cell (5200mAh) battery is great. The two SD slots are genius. The LED backlit screen is gorgeous, especially for the price and size. Runs ubuntu quite well. Keyboard feels great... didn't take long to adapt to the size. The...

Ok, the touch pad button placings are tragic. However, after a short while you adapt and it stops being much of an issue. Shouldn't slow you down... its just weird. Battery life could always be better (8+hrs please). The screen's minimum brightness...
